I was just thinking there for a minute.

In the trailer, the Covenant fleet just seemed to fly harmlessly by MC (pretty close too, they would have seen him). Could they be his allies now?

Well, we know at the end of Halo 2 that the Covenant basically split in half, so maybe we'll have grunts, elites and hunters fighting on our side now!

Just a random thought.

maybe they arent allies so to speak but both realised that if they dont activate the ark then the flood will wipe everything out anyway, the enemy of my enemy is my friend, the flood are definately worse than the covenant.

uhh, i dont think so beacuse you want to know...?

at end of the halo2, you see the arbiter.... he was friend to marnies right now but not us to the conventers because the arbiter did not tell to the million of covereters that MC is their ally so probably they dont see them because they just forced on the ark and want to activity or somethng so before MC stops them. so,,.

i dont mean to sue you but i just thinking

I think at first, the Elites and other Covenant aliens who rebelled will still be enemies. I doubt the news of the split within the Covenant has reached Earth. Only a small fraction of the Covenant know of what the Brutes did. However, as you are playing the game with the odds against you, Johnson and the Arbiter could arrive. The Arbiter could update the Covenant on Earth about what happened during Halo 2. This would cause the rest of the Elites to fight against the Brutes and Prophets. They might not necessarily become "allies" with the Master Chief, but they would have a common enemy and a common goal ( stop the activation of the rings). Then again, the Elites on Earth might not believe the Arbiter because he does have the "Mark of Shame", which could prevent them from believing him.
