WE SAW THE AR!!!! You know what that means. It means the pistol is back, right? ...Wrong. Honestly, don't assume that the pistol is back simply because the Chief was holding an older gun. Bungie took the original pistol out for a reason, because it was way too out of balance. The Assault rifle was never very extreme in one way, it was a good short range gun, but you still had a chance to counter it. The pistol was extreme. Trust me, I know it was fun to drop people in three shots, but think about it, is it more fun to be able to own, or is it more fun to have tons of competition.
The reason the pistol worked is because you did't have huge competitions, it wasn't so much a sport then. Now it is, everyone thinks they want it back, but think about th so called 'noob combo'. People could argue how fun it was to drop someone in two shots there, but its unbalanced. I love the pistol a ton too, but it just doesn't fit in the online multiplayer arena, its too powerful. Online isn't meant for one person to own, its meant for everyone of every skill level to be able to at least have a chance to compete.
And you may argue that Bungie is selling out to everyone. I say, "Duh". They are a company, their goal is to make money. Sure they love their fans, but, they aren't there to just please us. Its their job to make games that make microsoft money, its how they get the funding to make such amazing games. You can also argue that Halo 2 wasn't as good as Halo 1, sure, it might no have been (I personally think it was better) but so what! If it were any other game, if it were called "Shoot The Aliens" and had no ties to the Halo games, but played the exact same way, it would be hailed as a milestonein gaming history, and it is, but some people choose to ignore that.
You also might argue that by 'noobing' the game up, it makes it too easy. What you fail to understand is that what you are really saying is, "Its too hard for me to own anymore." The inheretly awesome thing about more people having the potential to be good is that you have to work even harder to get amazing and to stay amazing. You should appreciate that, it makes mroe competitive. Would you really want Halo any other way? Its the reason, even though you don't like Halo 2, that you keep coming back and playing it. Hate everything about it if you want, but everything in it makes it competetive.
I wouldn't mind if the pistol was brought back, but, it would have to stay in custom games where the goal is to just have fun and own. But, if it was brought back, people would begin complaining and makeit get put into playlists. Then it would get unbalanced and people would begin blaming Bungie for that fact. If the power of the pistol were brought back at all into matchmaking, it would have to be a very hard to reach gun, and it would have to be a different skin, and very rare to find. Sorry for that little rant, I just wanted to show people that I loved the pistol too, but we have to look onward. This is the next generation of console gaming, not that previous one.
TADA!!! Pragraphs. And lease read before you post, you look dumb if you say something without knowing what i was saying.
