....spongy, bungie, who cares? I got mine!

Does this forum not seem more mature now that the Halo forums have been "tucked" away, and most of the immature complainers have left for halo.xbox.com.

I think the people who are left actually shows who the real dedicated community members are. I actually enjoy coming to the forums more than ever now.

Now, I just need to start meeting some of you people in real life to put faces on these online... beings. haha

13.72 billion years in the making.

On December 1st, 2012, I met Neil deGrasse Tyson. I shook the man's hand, and even made him laugh. Not much else to do with my life now.

Even though I practically live there, I can tell you right now that some people on The Flood are far from "mature."

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

ironically I see the most immature people outside of the hidden forums.

Yeah I think you're right. The Halo fans are gone, the Bungie fans have stayed, and it has made Bungie.net a wonderful place.

  • 01.07.2012 11:08 AM PDT

I remember when I used this space to put cool looking links to my chapters back in the day. I don't even know why I'm using it now. Why are you even reading this? You must be interested in me. Still reading?

Honestly, I even feel like most replies in the Flood are legitimately on topic. There will always be special cases though.

In wine there's truth but in silence there's surrender.

I agree with you to an extent, but it seems though (well at least to me) the mature part of the community that was left over from Halo's passing over to 343 has all gathered in this public forum. Either that or everyone's just getting sick of the Flood and are looking for a place to have some real discussion, while still being able to stay on-site and be in contact with Bungie.

This, I like being around Bungie fans. Most of the Halo fans on 343i forum have only played Reach. I almost threw up when a kid said 343i should remove Forge from halo series to spend more time in MM and Halo 4 should have throwing knives.

I just saw a green monkey nut shot a small tan lizard(?) in a gunny sack.

No, because some of the more annoying, immature kids have come here with their pointless spam. The Halo forums gave them a place to fester, away from here.

Not really.

"That's about all that can be said for plots, which anyway are just one thing after another, a what and a what and a what.

Now try how and why."

Sturgeon's Law applies very noticeably to the bungie.net forums. Ninety percent of the threads are stupid, whiny, or a combination of two. Ninety percent of the users immediately hit reply without looking at any other replys and leaving a single line of unpunctuated and uncapitalized text with no substantial thought behind it.

The other ten percent more than makes up for it.

Theme Builder 4.1 is out for Bungie.net!

Theme Builders

I haven't really noticed a change. If anything, hiding the Halo forums encourages "undesirables" to post in the Universe and Community forum instead.

It hasn't really affected the overall pleasantry of the forum though. Universe and Community have always been the nice, calm forums, Flood was for pointless spam, and the Halo 3/ Halo: Reach forums were for the worst of the worst.

In short, this section of the site hasn't really been affected at all.

I don't get the same feeling of this website being more mature as you do.

“Oh, it’s a little bit of everything, it’s the mountains, it’s the fog, it’s the news at six o’clock, it’s the death of my first dog, it’s the angels up above me, it’s the song that they don’t sing, It’s a little bit of everything.”
- Dawes, A little bit of everything

You know? As Bungie has gone dark, the forums have calmed down a little and this has allowed me to see things a little clearer, and I've noticed that there are those among us who are quite mature community members, but they are equally balanced out by those who are not. Regardless, I've been able to see more of the mature side of this community recently, which has been a relief.

There are also members of this community who consider maturity a function of age, which, in my opinion, is not true (in all cases).

In this forum, sometimes.

In other forums, no.

2/15/12: Francisco Porras, I'll miss you. Rest in Peace.

I've always thought that the community forum was more mature than any other, even though we have "smart" trolls. But that's just apart of our charm. Besides I don't consider trolling (the way it's done here) to be immature.

  • 01.07.2012 12:17 PM PDT

Well, I feel that the community forum is the most mature out of all the Bungie.net forums, but there will always be those one or two people who are an exception.

Hi there! be sure to click that homepage link!

The community Forum is a very mature forum when compared to The Flood forum and the Halo: Reach forum.

Yeah, and sometimes the exception is so shockingly hard to ignore that 1t i5 unbearable.

There will always be trolls...the reason we're at a rather calmed state right now is because Bungie is hammering away at their keyboards making some new weapon of mass destruction, and we haven't heard much from them.

This is what I think, coupled with alot of users going to 343i Forums, and mainly being Reach players. Because I'm def. a Halo fan.

Kinda, Halo always attracted little kids because they just hear one word about space/aliens and their heads spin. No more Halo = less little kids.

For a moment perhaps. When we get more info on the new IP and new members flood the site, be prepared to go back to step one.
