Lousy narratives? Halo 2 had the best story in all the games.

If you actually pay attention to what happens, or have any common sense in your body, then you'll realize that Halo 2's first scene is impossible

Explain yourself, program.

"Covenant ships are out of range of the Super Magnetic Accelerator Cannon! :o"

Even though in Space there is no such thing as "Range" that has any meaning, since there is no atmospheric drag, and the projectiles which go 10% of the speed of light would have a range that went to the moon. Not to mention there are 300 guns that can saturate an area, and that the platforms have no point defense

*Meanwhile, watches plasma lances hit Human ships effortlessly*

It is rather unfortunate that the Arbiter missions were better

Makes sense though; better character, better story.

but the Chief story was still nothing short of amazing.

I...what? In Halo 2? Does not compute.

All his missions were amazing.

Killing Regret, almost dieing, captured by Gravemind.
High Charity, Mercy, that scene with Cortana, if he leads the Covenant fleet to Earth, they don't stand a chance.
High Charity, dont make a girl a promise, if you know you cant keep it.

The thing is, though, they didn't make me want to play them, like Halo 1 did. In Halo 1, I thought to myself, 'this is amazing! I wonder what'll show up next?'

In Halo 2, I thought to myself, 'hurry the hell up and get back to the Arbiter already.'

Halo 2 > Halo 3 > Halo 3 ODST > Halo Reach > Halo CE

Based on campaigns.

Halo 2 has an amazing campaign. I think it has the best storytelling of all the Halos. And the campaign missions are fun. I never played the multiplayer

Halo 3 is my second favourite. I like the gameplay and the storyline but i feel the story could have been portrayed a little better in game. Like the multiplayer but sadly i cant find matches anymore

ODST is my third favourite Halo, i like the campaign and firefight can become addictive.

Then I like Reach. I ont think its a bad game, i just like the above games better. Although i do really like firefight and campaign, and i like the multiplayer as well.

My last favourite Halo is CE. The campaign is dull to me, yes i can navigate through it easily now but still, it takes away from the fun having levels that send you round and round. I do like the level Assault on the Control Room but it still gets dull. I pretty much hate the other missions. It gets boring very quickly, something which the other four Halos have yet to do.

So in response to your question. Is Halo Reach awesome? Yes, I'd say so, but Halo 3 ODST is super awesome, Halo 3 is super duper awesome and Halo 2 is super duper oober awesome

You are wrong. The range is only 50,000km, the moon is 300,000 km from Earth.

Also, the Covenant learned from their mistakes in Reach.
The range is the effective accuracy of the projectile. One tiny degree off can lead to a big miss, at 50,000km, the projectile is unpredictable.

The 300 guns were spread out. Only the battle cluster Cairo, Malta and the Athens fired, and when the ships got really close they accelerate through the debris field of the the Malta, preventing other stations from firing.

Hundreds? Didn't you see how effortlessly the Covenant took out the ODP on Reach? And how that fleet was tiny compared to the fleets guarding High Charity, even with the split?

The moon is roughly 250,000 KM away

And at 1/10th of the speed of light, it would take less than 25 seconds to go there.

The platform could hit at 50,000 KM in a few seconds at most.

Also, the Covenant learned from their mistakes in Reach.

Not when you have super-advanced artificial intelligences guiding it to the target.

This isn't even mentioning that equipment today could hit it; and 26th century tech can't?

Even if that's true, the covenant ships fire projectiles at like 50 KPH for christ's sake, and their range is almost certainly less. Cortana even made the weapons on the ships massively-more effective with a few simple tweaks in First Strike

The 300 guns were spread out. Only the battle cluster Cairo, Malta and the Athens fired, and when the ships got really close they accelerate through the debris field of the the Malta, preventing other stations from firing.

If you look out the window on the Cairo, you can see 8 other platforms

Because Thel is a more interesting character. Chief was a good character for Halo 1; he's the story's conduit. He's there so we have a camera to see the story.

As a character, though, he's dull, boring, and repetitive. He's a flat, static character. The Arbiter is dynamic; he has a personality. That's what made him fun to play as.

The moon is 300,000km away. It would take ten seconds for a projectile to reach the moon. The MAC projectile is a dum one. It can be maneuvered, but it has incredible speed, and the Covenant ships, move too. It would struggle to change course with such a velocity.

Even if the other platforms fired it doesn't matter. Regrets fleet expertly got through the defenses, from lessons on Reach.

Also, the Covenant have lasers, and those things have essentially infinite range.

When did the Covenant use lasers? And when were MAC rounds controlled mid-'flight'?

What house has a rocket pod, has legs, and has a long narrow barrel that probably shoots something powerful?

Sounds like you're describing the lower half of my body, actually.

I don't think it is the best but I do agree that it is awesome. If it wasn't awesome I would stay away from it and never play it ever again but Bungie knows how to make a game where I can never say no to. Can't wait to see what 343 has in store for us with Halo 4!

lol sorry, I was thinking of miles.

The moon is 350-400 thousand KM away :3

It would take ten seconds for a projectile to reach the moon. The MAC projectile is a dum one. It can be maneuvered, but it has incredible speed, and the Covenant ships, move too. It would struggle to change course with such a velocity.

No, I mean literally anticipating the enemy ship's movements and sending dozens of shells at it, instead of sitting there like a salami and stroking yourself.

Even if the other platforms fired it doesn't matter. Regrets fleet expertly got through the defenses, from lessons on Reach.

"Some think they can outsmart me... maybe, maybe, but I haven't seen one who can outsmart bullet" -Heavy

If you have a projectile like that coming at you, there's nothing you can do.

Also, the Covenant have lasers, and those things have essentially infinite range.

Covenant ships use those "Blobs" of plasma, not lasers; Cortana altered them on the Ascendant Justice to produce beams.

Read Evolutions.

And if MAC cannon rounds cant be diverted, they would suck even more, proving my theory. Evolutions, specifically the one of Cole explains both weapons.

Evolutions is a side-story arc/arcs secondary to the books and games commissioned by Bungie.

The Covenant use plasma bolts, you see this in the first scene in Combat Evolved :/

They use both, I can guarantee you that. Evolutions is canon.
I am not saying that they dont use plasma bolts, but they also have lasers in addition to plasma weapons. Lasers are better long range weapons, and the Return to Sender supports this theory.

Never denied it was canon, but it's a secondary source.

They use lances and bolts to bombard planets and ships, and they use tight-beam plasma b33mz in their excavation beams

^lol people thinking Halo 2 had a coherent plot

More coherent than Reach's. The first 4 missions of the game didn't even matter. In fact, the game's pace didn't pick up until LNoS and the missions after that had no purpose until the Pillar of Autumn.

I never said Reach's was any different.

Halo 2 and Reach have lousy narratives; at least Halo Reach makes you very :'( near the end

I agree to half of that. I beat Reach many times and I've never cryed. What I really hate about the Reach Campaign is that every time I beat the Campaign, my progress dissapears. So I may never play Lone Wolf again. Believe me. That's my favorite level in Reach. Now I feel :'( at the very end.

Lone Wolf was the only level I consider 'good' in Reach.

Of course, I agree. But I like some other maps thanks to glitches and easter eggs and tricks and stuff.
