Subject: Please god let Halo 4 have dedicated servers

Seriously. I have been playing BF3 all week, decide to pop my Reach disk in, and second game I play and players are lagging across the map.

gears 3 master race.

  • 01.07.2012 1:21 PM PDT

No. Just a better host selection system, or a search preference for something like continent.

I'm not really an Apple person (Bananas forever) but damn, that's kinda sad.

Presumably you live in the United States?

Dedicated servers only work well when the clients are nearby, else it's almost indistinguishable from Peer-to-Peer to people in Australia or Britain.

Only agreed if every major "Hub" in the world had them

The high percentage of Australians who frequent these boards are going to disagree. You will be taking away the only thing that makes them good at this game by adding dedicated servers.

Agree. I have had it with all the red-yellow bar US hosts i am forced to play on. Even a dedicated server from US has better connection then the wallmart crap most have.

^Has no idea how much money Microsoft makes off of our Xbox Live subscription fees alone.

fear me, for i am pro sauce

it really needs it, dedicated is the way forward for ALL online shooters

microsoft can easily afford it but i doubt they will do it

  • 01.07.2012 3:17 PM PDT

no its because matchmaking will always choose an american host over a host with a good connection. All matchmaking will lag now.

  • 01.07.2012 3:39 PM PDT

dedicated servers would be nice but you know 343 wont do it.

Like in Battlefield 3.

Servers in North, South, East, West US, Japan, Europe and Australia.

I'm in Asia and it doesn't even lag when I play on US servers.

This.. Dedicated servers wouldn't fix lag it would probably add more for people. If you live close to the server you will be fine but if you're across the US or out of the states you will have more lag than you do now. People think dedicated servers are the fix for it but it's really not.

Your presence here is quite unneeded. Begone you!!!

It might solve some issues with people getting dropped out due to lag but that's about it
