No, I don't want it even if I never have to see it:  0%

The arguments against putting certain weapons in or taking others out could be solved by allowing a higher degree of player control in custom games. Specifically, you could have the 3 shot pistol as a weapon option for custom games, without making it available in the Campaign or Matchmaking service. Then you don't have the balance or 'realism' issues that always get raised in this debate, and what does Bungie care what people are doing in their private custom games (they could have never predicted Zombies after all)? The old school crowd would have their pistol, and everybody else would never have to see it.

And with more player control of custom games, you wouldn't have to create 'Honor system' rules, such as no sword or host shotgun, whatever. You could decide exactly what weapons appeared on the map, instead of preset weapon 'sets.'

So let's list the main complaints:
1. Pistol: Problem solved, just put it in a custom game and 3 shot to your heart's content.
2. Auto-aim: Maybe as part of the customizable options you could lower this manually, and Matchmaking and Campaign would use the default setting.
3. FOV: Again, perhaps this could be another 'custom game' setting that wouldn't affect MM and Campaign.

Basically, you see where I'm going with this. By allowing more control and fine tuning of custom game options by players, Bungie could nullify the typical criticisms of the H1 purist crowd while avoiding the typical counter-arguments of the H2 crowd (game balance, realism, etc). People would have to come up with completely brand new complaints to troll the forums with for the next couple of years (which I'm sure they would), but at least we could put these few to rest with a simple, elegant solution that caters to the purists without affecting anybody else's game.
