How did tryhards kill Halo? There has always been more social players than competitive ones yet the game is barely surviving. If Reach was a good game, there would still be lots of social and competitive people playing it. Tryhards didn't kill Halo(Reach), Bungie did.
Also, don't forget that the social dominated matchmaking system needed an unsustainable population level, and so resulted in lop-sided matches, further reducing player base.
Also, with more competing games coming out more often, Halo just isn't the only game in town anymore. A lot of people played H2 because it was one of the few good online options for consoles in its time. Some people played H3 because it was the successor to H2.
Suddenly several competing shooter franchises become hugely popular, and Halo loses a lot of players to them, because those games fulfill the needs/desires of those players better than Halo ever could. If anything, I think that is the real reason for Halo's apparent decline. Reach's poor mechanics choices didn't help to alleviate that existing problem.
Also, very uncool on your treatment of Lady Snipershot. Any particular excuse as to why her opinion is unimportant to you? I'm hoping you're actually trolling us.
