I actually made worthy points at the beginning of this thread but started trollin' once the butthurt tryhards made an appearance.

As far as I could tell, your "worthy points" boiled down to the idea that Halo's decline in popularity is a direct result of trash talking by a small minority of players.

Yeah, ok.

If you look further I actually said the demise of Halo was in fact due to competitive players abandoning the game at the beginning of Reachs life. Those wannabe pros still cast negative opinions on the game and can be found in MLG and this forum.

The funny thing is, most of us "try-hards" don't match anything like what you just said.

And for fun, I'm going to bring some light into what you said.

1.1-1.5K/D in the MLG circuit is good, because you are only playing against the best players. As opposed to anyone.

19- Not a virgin, trying to go pro? Nope. I just enjoy the MLG community.

Yes. We killed Halo. With our, what? Bloom, AA's, etc etc? Do you see where I'm going?

I don't get where people get this idea that MLG killed Halo.

i feel you on that..... real talk

Forget it man, and get with the countdown. Shake this square world and blast off for Kicksville.

Reach host ranking algorithm: (a*quit_percentage + b*isMexican + c*(1/KDR) + d*hasGuest) * 100
where a > b = d > c

You're sort of implying that competitive players are an integral part of the community, which is interesting, but still...

As someone else pointed out, MW3 stands in direct opposition to this theory. The game has been absolutely trashed amongst the online community, but the casual playerbase hasn't been diminished in the least.

You can not seriously recognize yourself as a competitive player. I exclusively play Anniversary FFA, a playlist in which Halotracker ranks me above you in. If you hold your own in MLG then the players can't be too good.

In previous Halo titles I used to be part of the 'competitive' community. There is no real competitive element to Reach, even in MLG. When tryhards realize this and play the game for fun without judgement is the day Halo will become fun again.

Halo Reach simply wasn't designed to cater to tryhards. They are now butthurt and intend to ruin everyones experience by trashing Reach where possible(don't believe me then look at all the hate threads here)

Stat boosting?

why do you exclusively play Anv FFA? Thats probably the only reason you rank whatever you rank on Halocharts, cus of your amount of games played. ugh.

FFA is the only place where you won't be matched up with retards. Only against them.

i think that the fun that video games stand for is being lost. people take gaming way too seriously. idk why people just cant play games for the fun of it, or does that only happen in mario?

Divisions there are not decided by games played.

Indeed, many are more interested in their K/D in a FPS than actually the enjoyment of the game. Even if you play well there is always someone who claims to be better, which is the attitude of this forum.

Lol

The times changing is what killed Halo. Also, in truth if you play this game and go after the objective of that particular match. You are by definition a "tryhard". So that means anyone who plays this game not to grief others is a tryhard. If your not trying to play the game, then what is the point in playing it in the first place? I suggest watching television, because apparently your too lazy to put forth effort into playing games.

All you tryhards are what killed Halo. Congratz

Nope the people who wanted Social playlists did. You wouldn't match tryhards in ranked games unless you were high in trueskill.

Nobody 'wanted' anything, I think Bungie clearly just did what they wanted to do in Reach. Don't blame the 'social' community. Reach is what you make of it, MLG tryhards are ruining it.

No, Bungie listened to the thoughts of players of the Reach beta and changed and tampered with it according to the results they got.

I haven't played a single game of MLG. Also, I was talking about elitist MLG players who stat brag and believe anyone who plays default Reach is bad.

You're trying to state I was one of those people. Good try.

My definition of a tryhard is an MLG wannabe who aspires to be the biggest, bestest gamer on da internet. Such as that Puma guy.

Im a tryhard. I do not stat check anybody on these forums because I know that I am better than them. I like to win. That is why I am a tryhard. Winning is fun, losing is not.

There are hardly any (if any) MLG elitists on these forums. People like the MLG playlist because it is the only playlist that offers competitive gameplay and also isnt random. We like it because it is fun and is as close to 'classic Halo' as it can get.

If you are a casual player, and someone calls you bad, you shouldnt be offended. Only tryhards should get offended if they are called bad.
