Bringing the 2006 back to Bungie.net since...well, 2006.

Ignore this post.

I remember when I used this space to put cool looking links to my chapters back in the day. I don't even know why I'm using it now. Why are you even reading this? You must be interested in me. Still reading?

Does that mean the Masters look down upon you?
Yes, I get a feeling of inferiority from them, but a feeling of superiority over you lot.
Careful, they are watching. Some people don't speak this sarcasm. You wouldn't want to be considered an..... elitist. :O

You know your place.

cars, girls & cake all day everyday

So wait, you're saying it's a big freakin' concern that some people here have done a little bit of contributing and good behavior over the years, and therefore earned the title?

If this "problem" really is about something that doesn't matter being blown up into something that does matter, then why are you letting what shouldn't matter, matter?

Because it's human nature. It's like working your whole life and getting good grades in school and college just so you can get a foot in the door above another person. This job leads to your future success and therefore will get you your dream job.

Because you accomplished that gives your more privileges above other people that applied for the same job. It's human nature to categorize and judge other people by the work that they have done in their past. This is no different from a simple video game forum. It's just sad that this has diminished into this.

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

I guess the only way to stay ahead of the game is an inb4 or have Recon Number 54 quote you.

It's sad how some people literally go through these forums and won't even notice or respond to other users posts simply because of their color. I think it degrades from the conversation and makes it a less friendly experience. I think there should be harsher penalties for users that express this.

For someone complaining about elitism, you're sure making me happy about my blue bar.

  • 01.07.2012 8:21 PM PDT

Roll the dice, try again.

It's fine that people have earned their title. That is not the concern. The concern is when people have limited their idea almost afraid that other higher users would just completely disregard that topic or idea.

i wanted to make sure that people understand that this whole problem does exist even on different forums on bnet and that it's inevitable on what we do about it. It doesn't matter what title you currently have, it's always going to be there. I think that the best thing our community can do is get through this struggle and make our best effort to start on a clean foot with the new IP that Bungie is announcing.

The people that are part of the 99% do have a problem with this. We're too stubborn about ourselves to realize this.

Hello, I'm Mr AwesomePizza. I like pizza and I'm a man. Reasoning for the name. I like to listen to the classics of music, write poetry, play video games, and much much more. I'm always down for a nice chat, so please hit me up for some conversation.

I'm all for people getting along. It makes things easier, and less dramatic. But don't take away the titles just because of certain people. The title system is like a cookie. You get it when you're good on a regular basis. The more good you do, the more cookies you get. But if you act poorly, you loose your cookie and are put in timeout for awhile or forever. Why remove a rewarding system?

Yes, some people do associate titles to knowledge for some reason. And they're not always correct on this assumption. Removing the title system would also remove diversity. We have many types of apples, trees, flowers, ect in our world. Removing them and only leaving one dominant one would make the world bland. Removing all titles except for one would make things on this website bland as well, don't you think?

And last but not least, it would create bigger drama. People losing their titles just because of a few people that wanted it gone. Or people acting more crazy when they see a mod for their special stuff.

Posted by: MarathonActually, 99% of people don't have a problem with it. Hence the reasoning behind why no one has agreed with you yet.

Also, why is everyone in this thread (mythic or not) trying to legitimately contribute to the conversation at hand? Should we all overlook your thread and ignore it because you are a member? It would definitely validate what you are trying to prove.

You are beating a dead horse and have a false understanding of the community.

If you find your posts going ignored, it's probably because they suck.

I've never seen a person claim to ignore others' posts based on forum title and be serious about it.

And my point is that your point has been disproved by multiple replies from Mythic and Legendary members and even a moderator. So what is your point now?

I'm trying to explain to you that it is all in your head. You are over-evaluating the forums a little too much.

It only takes a simple question to change everything.

We're all winners.
I'm a better winner than you.

I don't think that elitism is a problem on this site.

Wait, what?
Oh, not literally, of course!

Given I have the highest title available on this site, the, lesser ones, should listen only to me because I am greater.

"We live in a special time; the only time where we can observationally verify that we live in a very special time" - Lawrence Krauss.

I was a finalist :P

This concept keeps coming up in these forums over, and over, and over (x 1000) again. The issue here isn't the titles, and it isn't the user who has the specific title you're referring about.

It's about one user (User A), who looks at another users title, and thinks to themselves that their opinion is not going to be viewed upon, when compared to that other user.

Elitism is so tangibly rare on these forums, that it'd basically be non-existent. The reason it still wanders about is that members can think about the above thoughts.

So we shouldnt work hard in real life to get an education so we can get a good job above someone who didn't work as hard because that wouldnt be fair to the person who was lazy? If we get that job instead of them that makes the hard working guy elitist.

You just painted me a picture of soviet russia and i am not amused.

We miss you Logan.
Ask any question. I'll help with anything on site or off.

Hmmm, reminds me of my thread. The titles are just fun. Sure some users think there better than others because of there titles, but just let them believe that. Just no that they are not. No one here is better than others. We are all one community, and we need to start acting like it.
