everything you just said is irrelevant. simple fact is a worse player can beat a better player because he gets to choose camo from respawn. if i outsnipe him and he chooses camo, i can't counter that or influence his choice without being camo myself or running over there to stop him, which will probably make me die in the end anyway.

No it's not. A worse player can beat a better play because he has a 400$ surround sound headset and you have a cheap microsoft headset. Simply put if he chooses to use camo so be it. IT is only effective in 8v8 against a bad team. 4v4 camo is useless and you can agree with me on this. REd dot's is a pretty good indicator so ya he has an advantage but a disadvantage as well.

I find it cheap and cowardly.

Just in case you missed it from the previous page

Opinions do have weighting on some things. Just because you can use it, doesnt mean you should. Almost every good Halo player likes the feel of Classic Halo. In that regard, the good player thinks everyone should have the same weapons (and in Reach, abilities).

Nobody good should choose camo because they know that it ruins gameplay. I am fine when camo is a pickup and a person has the sniper because I know that they earned the power up/weapon. Im just saying that invisibility should not be a choice off of spawn.

Well I can agree with you in some ways but this was all about a comment made saying anyone who uses camo is bad. So I made my point and we are done here.

Some people think it's cheap to use it, but you're playing to win the game right? I don't care about honor in the game and if someone thinks i'm bad for using it, i'm in it to win it and gonna use any tactic to do that.

Its rather lame to be honest. Given the ability to be invisble with a power weapon off spawn-meaning you didn't have to "earn it" like in previous Halo games just seems like a very stupid/OP idea.

Not to sound rude here, but more often than not it gives "worse" players the ability and freedom of not having to worry about being shot/discovered.

Essentially. Its one of the dumbest things that could have happend for this game.

Camo as a starting ability I mean.

Exactly my point. Same with spawnkilling is it right? No no fair chance there. But will teams do it. Yes.

Effing this. I always rage when i get ambushed or drilled by a sniper from the deep blue yonder, but i always take note of where he's going/hiding and i try to assassinate them. their radar cloud distracts them enough to always get the pounce.

There is nothing 'wrong with it', it's just pathetic.

Rockets/Fuel Rod + Jetpack = Combo
Sword/GHammer/Shotty + Sprint/Evade = Combo
Sniper/Sword/Shotty/etc + Camo = Combo

Can you really blame the people using these exploits? I sometimes use Camo sniping, but I set up a good position to do so. If you going to blame someone, blame Bungie. They are the ones who thought it would be well balanced. Actually to be honest, I don't think Bungie would have expected this to happen.

And so God called Moses to come forth but he came fifth and was therefore disqualified.

I think you are right, certain weapons have different combos.

I agree, that is my argument, just worded better.

nothing, for any armor variant, there are pros and cons, but what it comes down to is, a kill is a kill, and no matter what, haters are gonna hate on you. The only armor variant I want to burn in hell is Armor Lock, Active Camo pails in comparison as far as noobs go, to that -blam!-. AL is such a giant pain in everyone's ass. If I'm in a game with people using it, I WILL teabag their rotting corpse. >_<

  • 01.08.2012 3:38 PM PDT

I like to play Reach for fun. I hate MLG, campers, armor lock, and team killers because they ruin that fun. Deal with it.

Nothing as long as you're moving.

  • 01.08.2012 3:43 PM PDT

Exactly! We all play Reach to become better and to win. I'm a decent player with a positive K/D, but I will do whatever tactic I have to win a game. Winning is Winning, just ask Charlie Sheen. If you want to go camo, I have a good eye for seeing it, you're gonna jet pack? fine, I'll grab a weapon to counter it, Sprint is sprint, it's always useful, but if noobs are armor locking, I will start using it too just to piss them off, I hate AL haha

Cool story, I still have more kills.

That's just weak. Surely you have something better?

Wanna hear something weak? Your forearms.

Mediocre Backpacker
56% W\L
2.86 k\d
3.18 DMR
7.29 God Magnum
7.79 Sniper
5.34 Needle Rifle

Like a lot of others have said, its cheap. Terri-bad snipers with slow reflexes pick it, because otherwise they'd get domed immediately. Only time I do it, is against full teams, and even then? We're -blam!- anyway. You do it in any match I'm in and I'll dent you the rest of the match for using a noob tactic.

  • 01.08.2012 3:56 PM PDT

chances are I don't care who you are or what you say.

its dumb and for campers

I'm JP, and I am a nine month veteran of the Dropshock Brigade. My interests are not only in gaming but sports and hobbies such as football, hockey, airsoft, and baseball. I started playing Halo when I was four years old, and I hoping that Halo 4 will become a great game and successor to the previous halos.

Us members at Dropshock play MLG, so this is easily avoided as well as many other problems. However, you can easily kill someone once you notice the ripples in the air when they move. So, the best solution is to get someone with you to distract the sniper, and you can then take him out once he takes the shot.

Unless you are playing a decent team, who you know. Call out, protect there teammates. With being able to hide in your base/side of the map, being killed cross map isn't an issue as a camo sniper.

What is wrong with camo sniping? I need to know, as I do it all the time.

Considering your K/D, you "camo sniping" literally makes no difference.

  • 01.08.2012 5:38 PM PDT

Forget it man, and get with the countdown. Shake this square world and blast off for Kicksville.

Reach host ranking algorithm: (a*quit_percentage + b*isMexican + c*(1/KDR) + d*hasGuest) * 100
where a > b = d > c

Compared to your intellect, my forearms look bigger than Vin Diesel's.

Actually, imagine what his stats might look like without the crutch.

I have no issues with this argument.

It is not, however, an argument for active camo to be in the game.

It also does not change the fact that AC is not the most effective AA for supporting your team as a sniper. AC, by its very nature, only serves as a crutch. It helps you if you cannot snipe effectively while under fire, or defeat enemy snipers. If you could do both those things, the obvious choice would be to take sprint and increase your mobility.

So if you want to take camo and snipe because you do better with it, fine. That's your choice. Just don't pretend that somehow makes you some brilliant strategist or the more skilled player. You've chosen a sub-optimal loadout to cover your deficiencies. I don't see what's so bad about admitting this either. I'm bad at the game. My universe doesn't collapse when I admit this.

I love these arguments.
