Subject: How to get better

I have played about 2.5 years cumulatively and ive hit my wall. I cannot get any better no matter what i do. I am a 44 and it seems like now that Halo 3 is dying only the best play it anymore. I am losing left and right because people i get partied up with destroy me. I average 15ish kills a game and about 10 deaths. Is there something i can do to improve? Is there anyone that is willing to help teach me stuff to improve? It is to the point where i cannot even enjoy the game because i lose every one from these insanely good people.
Please message me on xbl.

Play with good people, also in custom games

Try not to die, even if this means you get less kills

Throw nades

I am curious about the 50s scoring.

How is it possible when playing in matchmaking to have a player with a 50 score when the game only counts up to 50 in total, now if there are more than two players playing, and there usually is, then how does a player score a 50?

I once scored 24 kills but in order to get a 50 don't you need to get a perfect kill rate?

Perhaps I just don't understand the scoring system.

I've had all these promotions and they don't seem to mean a thing.

do you just not have any common sense, or are you just completely oblivious?

when people refer to 50s they mean highest skill....

you need the skill levels on the far right to achieve the next rank

you can see the difference

LMAO

This kid brings a new meaning to the word Newb! Between his post here and the thread he created it has become quite clear he has absolutely no understanding of anything HALO. I suggest you do some reading online sir!

"What are we holding on to, Sam?"
"That there's some good in this world, and it's worth fighting for."

If you want to improve, check out ShadowzKiller on Youtube, if you haven't already. His commentaries are always very useful and instructive. Nearly every film has at least one trick I use every game. Watch films of people better than you. I'm only a 48, but I have played quite a lot. Please be aware that I am by no means the best! Make sure you focus on not dying in slayer-based modes. If you don't die, they don't get points, simple as that.

I hear ya OP. It's pretty tough at this point in the game's life to improve drastically. I'm like you - I got a late start in Halo, a little while after Halo 3's release I think. It's hard to compete with people who've been playing at a high level since Halo 2 or even CE. I've clawed my way to a 45 though. I'm always trying to get better and playing customs with pretty good kids.
Check my career stats and add me if you're ever looking for an extra person to practice with or just mess around in custom games.
