Looking through the posts about the H3 trailer, I see many theories about what is happening in the Campaign for H3, what does this or that mean, Cortana's quotes from Marathon and assorted poetry etc.
Remember the H2 trailer?
Remember the part where MC is piloting a Ghost in a race to exit through a closing door with some Brutes chasing him... and he just barely makes it?
Or remember the scene where you see a brute on a Ghost in New Mombasa and the Chief kicks him off?
Or remember the scene where about a dozen "drop coffins" land surrounding the chief, and out of them steps an ugly group of Black Elites. Then the MC drops one of his guns, pulls out a plasma grenade, and Cortana says "I bet you can't stick it" - To which the MC replies "You're on".
Well tell me which, if any of those three scenes did you encounter during your H2 Campaign?
None. Hmmm.
No racing Ghost scene, no Brutes on Earth, and thank god, no where do you get surrounded by a dozen Black Elites in orbital drop boxes.

Come on folks, Bungie is just playing with your heads (once again). I've been following the Halo phenomena ever since I first downloaded the 1999 "Halo rendered in real time using Open GL on a power macintosh" Quicktime movie trailer.

Personally, as far as the storyline goes, I believe the ark is on Earth, and we are the descendants of the Forerunners who piloted the ark here just before the "one actual" firing of the ring system to eliminate the Flood. The Ark is what Regret was seeking when he came to Earth in the beginning of H2 and he had no clue that the planet was the base of humanity, that is why the comment is made about the Covenant forces being so small in proportion to the fleet that glassed Reach.

Probably the prophet Truth expects to find the Ark, get inside, fire it off to eliminate all competition for the galaxy, and emerge triumphant and unchallenged master of our galaxy (note how he does nothing to protect Mercy from the flood parasite). Truth is anything but truth, he doesn't actually believe in that "Great Journey" crap he feeds the rest of the Covenant fools.

All I want to do is "finish the fight".

I had to wait a few years from the time I first heard of Halo (on a mac), until I got to actually play it (on bill gate's love child xbox), but it wasn't so bad, because at least, Halo CE had closure (well, at least for that stage of the story). I'm sure you heard it a million times already, but I was disappointed that the H2 storyline ended so abruptly. And now we have to wait until 2007.

Gee would that be January 2007, E3 2007, or Christmas 2007?
Considering how Jason Jones and company have been making a living off this game franchise for the last seven years, I suspect they will milk it out to the end of the year...
