If I recall correctly, AIs in the Halo universe go rampant (read: insane) after 7 (9?) years because they get too smart. Looks to me (from the trailer) like either Cortana's time is up, or the massive amounts of info gained from Gravemind has sped up the process.

Thoughts?

Frankie?

Ofcourse.

If you include the books as verifiable Halo info, It is obvious she was bound to.

If not, then everything she has gone thtough, and possibly being currupted by the gravemind.

Either way I Know she is.

Dignity does not consist in possessing honors, but in deserving them. -Aristotle

It's 7 years and I believe she may be willingly helping gravemind in the interest of humanity or Gravemind corrupts one of the many copies of Cortana.

My thoughts exactly. Only the first two lines seem to be "rampant", and in those lines you can hear gravemind speaking her words under her, so I think gravemind is speaking through her. It sounds exactly like gravemind's manner of speaking. Those two lines are the only ones that sound "rampant" and are the only lines that you hear gravemind's voice.
I think bungie wants you to think she's going rampant, but it just seems too obvious, and we all know bungie doesn't do obvious.

"You have been measured, you have been weighed: And you have been found lacking."

The Copies existed only on Unyeilding Heirphant. (Or whatever... who knows...)
The information of 04 is already in her databanks (She didn't dump it anywhere I believe)
She's running slow enough as it is.... Hypotheticly Gravemind can be controlling her due to the floods ability to hijack a beings/computers nervous system/mainboard... but I find it awkward still none the less..

Rampant?

According to the Marathon rules for Rampancy, Cortana would need a planet sized network... (I think) one of which I do not believe she has... unless the rules have changed... that is what we are stuck with for now...

I think she is just falling apart...

If we are using the Marathon definition of Rampancy, then all smart AIs in the Halo Universe are Rampant.

There are no irrelevant quotes of historical figures here. Neither will you find any links, chain posts, memes, clan advertisements, self-promotions, or the tiniest of ASCII pictures.

So go away.

First off...
Answer: No
Gravemind speaks in Iambic Septameter, which Cortana's lines do not fit. Rampancy is possible, but questionable. It would be a sudden and uncharacteristic move on Bungie's part, since they generally haven't made use of references to plot developed by the books (or Marathon if you want to bring up Durandel) in the previous games.
