In my opinion( MINE not everyone else's) Halo CE had a great campaign with a lot of gameplay time, but it became repetitive.
Halo 2 added a heap of new functions and weapons while giving us new graphics and gameplay elements, I liked its campaign more then Halo CE's,especially its easter eggs, but it wasn't as long.
Halo 3 gave us back the assault, but nerfed...a lot, gave us a few new weapons and gave us equipment and new vehicles and new graphics, gameplay was great and with skulls that stay unlocked it was a heap of fun,it gave us a lot of combat scenarios (E.G vehicle battles, stealth, flood and head on), but it had an even shorter length.
H3 ODST had the right idea, but implemented wrong, the battle were to scripted on the streets and the gameplay wasn't as fun and it lacked several key elements. It had a good story, and an extra story for people who put the effort in to find it, shortest story so far.
In Halo Wars, you were given a RTS and I have to say, I liked it, only problem was that you had a lot of limitations with what you could build, and it didn't give you really any customisation options, its campaign took awhile but not too long, just longer then H2.
Reach was meant to be great, but it was cut short. Their wasnt enough variety in combat like in Halo 3, wasn't as long as halo CE and didn't have fun easter eggs like H2. It did have an extra story, but I found this extremely dull and it lead to no where.
Well that's my opinion, read it or don't.
