I haven't received any unusual messages in Reach, but in Halo 3 I played a game of MLG, and my entire team quit.

The whole other team was there, and even though I died many times I did not quit and played till the end.

I got messages saying that I am a loser and I should have quit.

To be honest, this is kinda justified. Do you realise how stupidly annoying it is when three of the enemy team quit and you have to hunt done one lone hero who has too much honour to quit?

It wastes everyone's time, yours included. Just swallow your pride and quit.

How would that be justified? Just because random people you don't know in your team decide to quit, you should quit too?

If searching for that lone person on the other team is wasting your time, maybe you should be the one quitting?

Forget it man, and get with the countdown. Shake this square world and blast off for Kicksville.

Yes. If you are in a team game without a team, you are in the wrong place.

If searching for that lone person on the other team is wasting your time, maybe you should be the one quitting?
Indeed, let's give the lone warrior the win and have four people quit instead of one. That makes sense.

Inevitably he'll go -30, lose, and waste 10 minutes of his life. Meanwhile the other team will stat pad, win, and waste 10 minutes of their lives. Doesn't take a genius to figure out who should quit in this scenario.

"Angry Angels, Honour & Loyalty!"

"If you are in a team game without a team, you are in the wrong place."

NEVER!!

I say, if I am in a team game without a team, I go Lone Wolf on them!

I suck at MultiPlayer (my k/d does not fool no one), and its NOT about pride, but quitting is for loosers, in Halo as in life.

Why would he quit just so the four of you can get an easy win?
It might not be a waste of time for him. Maybe a challenge. If you see it as a waste of time, you should quit. No one's forcing you to play the remaining 10 minutes.

Anyway, it's his decision to make whether he wants to quit or not. There is no reason that he should quit.

In a rare moment of divine providence i got 17 kills, no deaths in a slayer match with various weapons, mostly the plasma pistol and grenades as the other team was vehicle dependant. In the last five minutes I picked up the sniper and got two more kills when some kid that went negative 6 betrayed me for it. I almost rage quit but began harrassing him with the dmr. He got sniped so i picked the snipper he dropped, and when he came back he began doing the same thing again, so i no scope him. He comes back and betrays me again, then i booted him. He sent me a message to play him three on three in his custom map, because i couldnt function without the sniper according to him.

I never retaliate except to report messages from kids like him that cant just play the damn game.

The four of us are already getting an easy win.

There is no reason that he should quit.
Apart from the fact that it's utterly pointless and idiotic for him to stay, I suppose not.

  • 01.11.2012 11:36 AM PDT

Ooh, I love those people, the ones who decide to throw everything and the kitchen sink at you, as if an M16 does anything to a T-90. Oh, MLG player with noobtube instead? Congrats! You blew off one of my ablative plates!

Gun, meet Bad Guy.
Bad Guy, this is Gun.

This is why such a thing as HLG exists, because the way people react and such is hilarious.

  • 01.11.2012 11:50 AM PDT

Be sure to tell everyone how cool you are. If you don't tell them, they won't know.

They want a response, its the only reason they are messaging. Best response is no response.

Or telling them they are nerds.

Its not easy when you have to "waste your time" searching for him.

It's not pointless or idiotic. That's just your point of view.

Like I said before, just because random team mates quit doesn't mean he should just "follow the crowd". You must be one of those "followers" and probably quit when you don't think you have any chance of winning.

Yes it is. Irritating =/= difficult.

Like I said before, just because random team mates quit doesn't mean he should just "follow the crowd". You must be one of those "followers" and probably quit when you don't think you have any chance of winning.
So you must be one of those warriors who play their videogames with "honour".

Give me a break. Staying to waste everyone's time and achieve nothing does not make you an independent free thinker uninfluenced by the whims of the crowd. It just means your time is obviously not particularly valuable.

honour? no, I play for fun :)
Staying to waste everyone's time and achieve nothing
If I decide to stay, I am not wasting anyone's time. You feel that time is being wasted, therefore, you are wasting your own time.

just means your time is obviously not particularly valuable.
If you feel your time is too valuable, why don't you quit if you know that lone person isn't going to? Then maybe your team mates might follow you too?

"Don't go following causes. They'll just break your heart. When idealism meets reality, it's rarely reality that backs down."

Michael Liberty, UNN

Starcraft Universe

Guy sends me 3 voice messages telling me to not think I'm good, and blaming lag for all his deaths, saying he couldn't hit me or my buddy.

BTW, he had rage quit.

I think he's one of those inheritors who thinks that rank=skill.

In space, no one can see your shame. The utter beauty of the stars and galaxies will leave you lost in the desolate wasteland of rocks and dust, and that, children, is why astronauts are crazy people.
On a side note, I am a grammar & vocab-friendly guy. So don't assume I'm a smart ass if you get into a complex argument with me...

"yu poopy ur pants u -blam!- face -blam!-y"
Forever a memento I'll hold to remind me how children all brighten our day.
Really funny too.
