In fact, I'd prefer they didn't even announce their next title for another year yet. You're probably wondering why I'd say that, but it's only been a year and a half since Reach. This means that Bungie has only been able to focus on their new title for a year and a half. Although many people want Bungie to give them a game within the next year, I'd prefer waiting until 2014 so I get an amazing game.

Bungie, just please don't -blam!- us like you did with Reach. Make this next game your greatest yet, with a full story, amazing gameplay, great graphics, etc.

Who the hell do you think I am?

Seriously? Halo Reach was not that bad of a game.

I thought that they had been working on Destiny for longer than that, and that they had started before Reach was released or perhaps announced?

Best of random chance

They've been developing concepts and what not since Halo 3.

It was a great game -- I'm not going to lie. However, in comparison to Bungie's previous works, I thought it was one of their worst.

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

I think Bungie has been working on "Project Tiger" for a very long time.

I understand nothing because my life is a conspiracy.

Reach was great. Maybe you didn't like how the game played, but it was of quality. They spent about 3 years on a game that they would lose the next year. That is determination.

I hope it comes soon though, maybe an announcement this year and then the game next year.

Comparatively it was. Personally I think they were just tired of making Halo and wanted to try something new.

We all backlashed because it was something too different from what we were expecting. I don't think that problem will persist with Destiny.

Unless it's an MMO, in which case, everyone will be pissed.

Not really,Im pretty sure a lot of people would like that

Bungie has been working on this new title for a lot longer than year and a half.

Back maybe (if I'm remembering correctly)... I think it was about a year after Halo 3 was released, we were told they were working on three separate projects. One proved to be ODST. One proved to be Reach. Each time, they had a small section of the studio working on the later project/s.

So we've had at least some team of guys working on this for years now. They at least have had a direction as they waited for the major artists and designers and all to move on from ODST, to Reach, to this new title.

This is the beginning of a new Universe. As long as it isn't some sort of subscription game, I'm excited to hear about it and expect great things.

RIP Logan ~B.B.

Bungie has had more than one dev team for quite some time. I'm pretty sure they would have started work on their yet to be announced game after ODST was finished, more than 2 years ago. With most major titles on a 3 year cycle, I'd hope we hear something soon. But, with the current console gen possibly reaching the end of it's lifespan, they may be holding out for the next gen of consoles. I don't know, but I hope they hurry. With Halo on a yearly launch cycle, Reach will be dead next year with no Bungie games left where you can find a decent match.

Hopefully Bungie will remain in the shooter market and deliver us another balanced game in a world dominated by weapon perks and unlockable in-game abilities.

I wouldn't. Although Bungie has already confirmed that it isn't an MMO.

I want Bungie to release information about their new IP this year. Just beacuse they release information this year doesn't mean they have to release the game this year.

I believe that the ideas were there for quite some time, but like James Cameron only now do they have the tech to advance and start their plan.

The basic idea may have already been on the drawing board but now it just needs to be made.

Considering there's possible hints to Destiny in ODST I think it's safe to assume that they've at least had this project going at 50% for quite a while now.

When I grow up, I want to be just like goofenhour.

There is a little bit of evidence that the "Destiny" or whatever it may end up being called, has been in the works since sometime after Halo 2 and sometime before Halo 3.

The evidence being that Jason Jones wasn't credited with something like "Lead Desinger" and I believe was credited with something like "Special Thanks" to the game (edit: Talking about Halo 3). This is assuming that he has been working on something new since then and this thing being the new game that they are working on now.

But it's pretty much confirmed that it has been in the works sometime shortly before Halo 3, so it has been in development for a long time (4-7 years).

Anyway, with Jason Jones as Lead Designer of the game (first time since Halo 2) and it being a Bungie game, like Nathan Fillion said;

"I put my faith, into Bungie."

Well, Halo Reach was in the making since Halo 3 release, and Destiny, has been in the making for supposedly longer.

I agree with this guy.

But i'd bet that that small team was for concepts and universe development. So as of now they have a very developed and well thought out story and universe. Or at least i hope.
