My pc exceeds the requirements and still gets choppy frame rates. My specs are 1.5 gigahertz cpu 767mb of ram a 32 mb Geforce2 mx-400 graphics card(its old but my new card doesnt work) so I should be able to play halo well. However on low settings the frames drop horribly when I shoot, or look at other ai's or players. I can play DoD:source and CS:source with this and get 35-40 fps on a crap vid card like mine. Can someone help me please.

and alittle off topic does anyone know how to install a ati radeon 9200se vid card for an agp slot?

That's quite odd. Try installing the latest drivers for your card if you haven't done so already.

http://support.microsoft.com/halocombat

This is a very good link for fixing a lot of Halo related problems.

If it's an older card you may need use some Command Line Parameters such as a different Shader version, or video mode.

Check your DirectX Settings using dxdiag in your Start/Run menu. Or you can use your Video Card control panel to change the settings of the card.

Minimum requirements are what is required to run the game, not run it smoothly. The source engine is much much much much better optimized than the halo one, and you shouldn't compare them anyway.

Your computer sucks.

Oh, and Gearbox didn't optimize Halo PC so to play with a decent framerate you'll need a computer much better than what the box says.

your computer isn't good, sry. 32mb video card= slow, 1.5ghz= pretty slow, 767mb ram= meh

to install any video card, you put it in the agp slot, turn on the computer, install the drivers. boom.

yea the mx400 is a terrible card. I'm surprised you could get above 25 fps with that.

Im on low settings. And I know source is much better but im just saying i get better frames with a game that is much better. I know my pc sucks but i dont have any money to burn for a better one right now. I do have a better card but it doesnt want to work right. It just goes to a blank screen after windows starts.
