Just ask for Halo for PC. It should come in a box, not some flattened DVD-esque case. If you get the DVD-esque case, that means you've got the Xbox veresion, not the PC version. It should say PC CD-ROM or something somewhere on the box.
And a few other points:
Make sure your computer checks out and can run Halo properly. This includes processor, RAM and Videocard, most importantly. If you don't know what's in your computer, just do this: Go to Start>Run and type
dxdiag
That should bring up computer specs. Make sure you write down processor, including the GHz number (known as the clockspeed), the Graphics Card model number and speed, and the RAM, most importantly. Have those with you when buying any sort of software for your computer.
