I recently bought halo for PC after having it on X Box for ages, except i have a problem. In campaign mode the game runs really jumpily and laggy and it bugs me. I want the smoothness of my xbox. Multiplayer works fine.
Before people say my system is probably the problem, i have an AMD Athlon 3200+ pc with a 256mb graphics card. Anybody know how i can fix this and make campaign run smoothly?

Sorry to say it,but Iamwhie is probably right. To be honest with you,the Halo PC's campaign isn't it's strong point.I also own Halo for the XBox aswell,so what I do is use the XBox for all my campaign playing and use the PC for all my multiplayer.I am able to play campaign on the PC if I wish with no glitches at all now that I've upgraded my graphics card, but old habbits die hard.I used to use an FX5200,but found it caused problems by not really being up to the job.Now I use an FX5900XT,which gives me smooth gameplay no matter what I want to do...You may have to upgrade if you really want to play the campaign that badly, but as I said before, why not just use the PC for all your multiplayer?

I have the same pc. Overclock the videocard. Mines bumped from 230 and 400 to 286 and 514. It will still be abit laggy in campaign, but multuiplayer will be nice and smooth. Also, update all drivers, and turn off anti-aliasing for halo(in directx setup)

What resolution are you trying to run Halo in? Also, if you disable Specular shading in your video setup, that will give you an appreciable boost in performance without loosing too much visually. Please also pay attention to what DSMColin had to say about updating your drivers. Also, if you haven't yet, jump into a multiplayer game and have the game auto-update your machine to the latest version. The initial version of Halo straight out of the box wasn't very kind to Nvidia cards. The updates addressed this issue.
