I doubt that the humans joined forces with the brutes or whatever. I'm sure there are still a few humans around somwhere so the mc is still fighting for the existence of the human race.

  • 05.12.2006 7:44 PM PDT

nothing left to do but to finish the fight

The Covenant are religious nuts they would see killing every human as gods will. also it details things like that in the fall of reach and it aint nice human survivors gathered together and given to the grunts and jackals for meat eaten alive! not nice! (and you thought grunts were cute!)
only the elites grunts and hunters at delta halo are in a state of enemy of my enemy is my friend at the moment.
I also think humans fighting alongside with elites hunters and grunts for the Whole game bungie wouldnt give us a ride that easy!
Also relevan to the topic their are humans left perhaps not on earth....
When the Covies attacked reach they bypassed alot of inner colonies im guessing they did the same with earth.

Is Earth actually the last human planet? I was under the impression that the covenant skipped some of the inner colonies in order to get to Earth.

According to the books, the Covenant started dropping Human colonies left and right before the Humans even realized what happened.
There are no colonies outside of earth left.

According to Frankie and Bungie, the Covenant have Slaughtered the remaining humans on earth, and took control of earth.

Wow you are quick to jump to conclusions.

Think of earth and their colonies as an atom, where earth is in the center (neucleus), and is surrounded by other colonised planets. The covenant have gone in through one side, and have reached earth, the center, which leaves a bit less then half the planets untouched, give or take. MC is FAR from the last human left.

Dawn of the Dead video Here
6 Minutes of Hell video here

Think about this war. The covenant are religious extremists. They have killed hundreds of billions of humans. Do you think they are suddenly going to halt their crusade? Do you think the humans would ever ally with them? Think please.

If the covenant follow their pattern, they will probably glass all of earth except for a small portion of Africa, which would mean that most Humans are dead.

I thought the point was made that after the fall of Reach, the - and this is the important part - entire freaking Covenant fleet followed Pillar of Autumn to the first Halo. After that, they headed straight for Earth. All of them - any remaining outer colonies were ignored.

Similarly, when the Cov. reached Earth they headed for one specific spot - New Mombasa. The Prophet of Regret was looking for something - probbly the location of the master control center (which is probably also the Ark).

My guess - if you're inside the Ark when you set off all the other Halos (releasing the Flood - get it? Ark, Flood?) then you're safe from the Flood. Anything outside is toast. So when the Cov. return to Earth, they probably head straight for the Ark there are probably other humans left on the other continents, ignored just like the other outer colonies, with the Cov assuming the humans will be wiped out as soon as they set off the Halos. Master Chief is probably just the only one in a position to do anything about it. Plus, there's no guarantee the scene Bungie set up as the trailer is exactly part of the storyline, or where in the storyline it comes. That could be toward the end, right before you have to wade into the Ark to stop it from going off.
