I swear to god, I thought this was a "OMFG, TEH BANSHEEEZ ARNT SHOOTING AT MASTE CHEEF SO THEY CANT BEE EEVIL!!!!!!111!!!1!11oneoneone!one1!!1one!!!!1111111!!oneone! !!!11!1one"

But, I dunno, the grunt thing's a generalization of the Covenant more than likely. I'm sure the humans don't care who's on who's side as long as they're dying.

Don't forget the Flood. They were taking over ships aswell, so you've got to add that faction aswell.

So far we only know of human ships being taken over by the flood. The main ship and pelicans from Delta Halo.

I did not read every post, but whoever said that Regret's fleet was wiped out, that is the truth. The human's confirmed that this happened in the game. Wouldn't Truth's Forrunner ship have been fired on upon entering the solar system if the fleet at earth belonged to the elites? The elites were busy trying to regroup and get things in order at delta halo. It is possible that a number of the ships at earth were controlled by elites but unlikely.

somehow I think there were more than 3 prohpets

There are..they are a whole race.

It only focuses on the 3 main ones though, one is killed by John and one is killed by a Flood Parasite form.

There was a Prophet on the ship "Truth and Reconcilliation" in Halo CE

This all doesn't add up to me anymore and it seems like things overlapped too much - I'm going to play the game tomorrow on my day off. I'm thinking that the time warp crystal found on REACH has something to do with Halo 2's whacked out story line..

Fun Fact : Cortana is not talking to the Chief, not directly.

She may be referring to GRavemind/Flood or Human beings as a whole in reference to the Arc of the Covenant (Halo rings) being the Sword, and the Normal Arc (On Earth) being the Shield.

Arc of the Covenant from the bible : Super powerful thing, and whoever had it won.

[Noah's Arc] : Saved a group of people and animals from the flood so they can repopulate the planet.

The Three Prophet Hierarchs are Regret, Mercy, and Truth. Regret was killed by Chief (suposively) on Delta Halo, but Gravemind revived him later. Mercy was killed by a parasite form, and Truth is now heading towards earth.

Truth wasn't leading any fleet to earth because there wasn't a fleet to lead. The scene where they leave HC all the ships are still fighting.

Argue that fact with Cortana and Bungie than, it says so in HALO 2.

two of the prophets are dead. i think truth is the last one remaining, and he was on the forerunner ship with tartarus on his way to earth. the trailer says nothing of what happened after they reached earth, but sometime (1/3rd) into the game. so yeah, it could still be the brutes and jackals n grunts taking over...the elites however might not have recieved confirmation from the arbiter that the sides have changed....

tartarus is dead.

"I got one on the wheel guys"

thats an interesting theory, but as you said the elites are not officially allied with the elites and also the message of the elites to be killed ran through all covie ships. So the only forces against the elites would be the jakels which would probably be over run by the elites un less a new wave of troops came which does happen at the end of halo 2. So how do we know that brutes just didnt come in a full force of ships and destroy the elites and the other exiled covie? remember at the last scene of halo 2 the master chief comes back to Earth in a Forerunner ship. So how do we know that brutes didnt conquer the elites and take over Earth and that the Grunt on the sign is just left over from an encampment of grunts wiped out by the brutes or the slipspace jump by the covies?

Please explain,

xtbaggrx

P.S. im not trying to discredit you or say you're wrong im just courious and pointing out a what if situation

I think that we manged to hold off the 15 ship fleet of regrets BUT,

Now the brutes and elites have started blowing the crap out of each other which severely cripples the covenant fleet overall.
secondly the flood took over high charity and attacked everyone. there is a remote possibility that the flood managed to get control of a few capital ships.
third there is the commander elite in the great journey who took back the cruiser the brutes had.
He will go and attack the remaining brute ships at earth.
Overall there will be about 30 brute capital ships remaining if they wiped out ALL of the ships the elites controlled.
Our problem now will be we have to defend againt an invasion by the brutes and If my theory is correct we will have to fight off a few flood ships at earth.

Tell me what you think.

But there is no "fleet", it's just the forerunner ship. You think they would say "Incoming contact, unknown classfication" if it was an entire fleet? No, they'd say "Aaaaaww, -blam!-."

There is intense fighting when the forrunner ship is seen. Play through the last two Chief levels again, and see where is says that. Other wise Truth would not be ablet o take over earth like the Covenant does. The earth forces spotted that ship zooming towards earth and noticed it wasnt covenant, thus they said that line.

That could be a second wave, possibly. Maybe Regret's fleet was like an Archeological team, and it got wiped out. I kinda got the sense that there had been continuous fighting since initial contact. And nobody ever said they COMPLETELY controlled earth, maybe that area is an exception while everywhere else is a warzone.

Well, in HALO 3, earth's defense forces are destroyed. So Truth would need the large fleet from High Charity to do that.

But where does it say that? Maybe it's just Mombasa that's like that. There could be heavy fighting around like the capital and stuff.

I don't have mush to say, but I do know there's no pilots actually in the shees.(lol)

Thank you ll7. I was waiting to see if anyone would mention that. I was really curious to see whether or not it was the Elites or Brutes. I thought a good way to find out was to see who was in the Banshees.. however when you pause you can see that they are empty (unless of course Bungie redesigned the Banshee so it is more sealed when piloted).

I don't think Bungie would miss this on purpose. I also don't think they really want to give away too much of the plot at this time and by adding Brute or Elite feet sticking out of the Banshee, that would be a good hint. For all we know this trailer could be taking place at any point in the game.

Of course Bungie may not have added pilots because they simply weren't finished with the models yet. *shrug*

Doesn't anyone else notice that they only land in Africa? Whats wrong with the rest of the world eh? Not good enough for the Covies? If you think Logically, the Prophets were trying to start there "great journey" and for some reason, one of them traveled to Earth and landed in a specific region and was surprised to find out "Hey This Area That I was drawn to for *Unknown* reason is full of humans!"

So Logically the Covies KNEW there was something important in that destert and the resason he didnt have a large fleet, was because he didnt expect it to be the human homeworld. And somehow they got the Delta Halo cordinates from Earth, unless they made a blind jump.

So now, in larger numbers to finish off the humans in halo 3, the last prophet that still believes in the great journey is here on earth in the same place to finsih the job.

My 2 cents

I am talking about the signpost that has a 'Grunt Crossing' symbol. This is not just a funny little insert, it's also put there to show that the Elite force (which holds the Grunts) has taken over.

There was a danger sharks sign in zanzibar. But there were no sharks.

But WHY Africa? Was it the part of earth that was facing them upon ariving, and they happened to find an artifact? Or did they know where it was?

Oh no, he is dead. And no, he wasnt with Truth.

Logically one can assume they had knowledge beforehand. Even in halo 2 they make a comment about it.
