at the end of the game, humans are still fighting regrets fleet or other ships that came in support once it was known humans were on earth. so obviously there can be elites or brutes on earth now. and the trailer is later on in the game so we are not sure who has come to earth and wat has happened. we'll just have to wait and see

As for the last part, Forerunners = Humans...

Will they look more primitive as we looked (when they left us on Earth), or will we look more advanced than we do now (since we would be re-evolving to become them)

And for the Arks, I have a pretty good idea on what may happen..

Earth = Noah's Ark
Structure from trailer = Control room for the Ark..Ark of the Covenant, and this sets of the Halos.[/quote]

Interesting theory about the Arc. If indeed the whole earth is the Arc, it could dramatically change how the story could go...

At the end of Halo 2 we know that the Covenant is split into two fractions:

We learned how to split fractions in math class. For example:

5/7 = 2/7 + 3/7

Isn't it funny how math helps you in life?

Incorrect, when watching the last cut scene in Halo 2, Truth had to yet got to Earth, but there was a large force of Regret's fleet still fighting in space.

Regret's fleet was completely wiped out, as we saw in Halo 2. the fleet left for earth a little before Truth did most likely, not to mention the scene in the Halo 3 trailer is taken 3/4 through the game, enough time for the covenant to completely destroy the main defense forces of Earth.

Actually several sources have said that the trailer takes place 1/3 the way through the game.

What if it was the Flood taking over Earth...... that would make sense too. And Truth's fleet was wiped out. Then it would be up to the Arbiter, MC, Keyes, Johnson, etc. to take care of them. Hence "This is how the world ends"

That utterly impossble that the flood would take over earth. If they ever did it will take them less than a day to turn everything in like the dawn of the dead. But if im wrong for god sake were screwed and let there be darkness!

On page 1 there are people saying 3/4 through the game, there is an article on gamestop's page where they were told be dev's that the video takes place approx 1/3 into the game, nowhere near the end of the story, just my 2 cents.

That's what most people recon the Arc is. Like Noah's Arc, it protects you from the flood, although in this case, it's actually the blast from the Halo's rings, and not the Flood directly.

It makes sense when you think about it. What's the point in stoppping the Flood from destroying all life, if the only way they can do it is by destroying all life? There's no point. You might as well just jump of cliff, at least you wont waste the time and energy making enourmous space habitats.

This of course leads to the theory that humans are the Forerunners: since the Arc is on earth, humans emerged from the arc. I recon however, that the humans evolved from life that emerged from the Arc, which ofcourse means the Forerunners could still be alive...

Doesn't anyone find it funny how we are looking at this one thing and trying to figure out Halo 3's story from it? I'm not saying all of your theorys are BS, all I'm saying is that we should give this more time. Wait for another video or something like that.

Well the fact that the entire covenant forces were torn between a civil war at the end of halo 2 along with the fact that the elites will never turn back to the prophets after being replaced by the brutes. I thought that it was possibly the elites that had control of earth or at least that had reached the structure before the brute forces a bit after seeing the trailer, but couldent make a forum.

two of the prophets are dead. i think truth is the last one remaining, and he was on the forerunner ship with tartarus on his way to earth.

tartarus is dead

But WHY Africa? Was it the part of earth that was facing them upon ariving, and they happened to find an artifact? Or did they know where it was?

It might have someting to do with the fact that human life supposedly began in africa some 100,000 years ago.. just thinking

I heard people saying that all covenant ships were fighting at high charity. The way I see it HC was the gathering point of all Covenant races, their city/super big battle station where the prophets and council would be most safe..
So each race of the Covenant would probably have their own planet and battle stations. HC was a important militairy operation, but I'm guessing the Covenant has a much much greater army than just HC.

If you read the little booklet that came with the game you learn there was at least one other

What if in the very distant future, Humans (we continue to evolve and change shape over time) look like the grays..Ya know, the Aliens they have in Roswell? lol, maybe some got away during the same time the Prophets left the Ark..and now they're back to see how we're doing or were going to warn us about the things to happen in the 2500's, only some scientists decided to give them enemas.

Regardless of why Regret left Earth his fleet WAS defeated. He brought 15 capital ships to Earth not expecting to encounter Human forces because he wasn't looking for Humans, but was looking for Delta Halo's coordinates. Earth is defended by 300 SuperMAC battle stations (minus two due to covie bombs) plus a respectable UNSC flotilla. If you've read the books it is apparent that a covenant force of this size would not last long against Earth's defenses.

The battle that is seen at the end of H2 is obviously a second, larger attack on the planet.

They did NOT lose 2/3 of the Prophets because the Prophets are an entire species. There are presumably thousands of them at the least. I think what you are referring to are the 'High Prophets'.
