They could alwas put MP on a difrent disk to fit more things on it.

Eh, true. But how many players out there want to get up and insert an entirely new disk just to play multiplayer. I know I don't.
Too goddamned lazy...

A lot longer than the first two. At least 15 hours, AT LEAST! Halo and Halo 2 ended at around 8-9 hours. Quake 4, Far Cry, and HL2 all end at around 20-25 hours

Ok, another thought relating back to N64 Perfect Dark (god I'm obsessed, huh?).
Players on H3 could chose their difficulty setting, and THAT would in turn change the # of levels and/or objectives per level.
This would allow players to make sure the game isn't so long they get bored and so short that it's not enough fun.

Possibly, though not likely, let players chose which objectives/routes to accomplish in each level BEFORE they start it.

SPARTEN stole my idea, and didn't even use correct grammar. =( lol.

Well, who cares if some people are lazy?

Do you want a good game to finish off the series? One with unimaginable graphics, huge places to explre, and the game would be long as -blam!- to boot? We need all the current mysteries of the stories solved..

im not sure about how many thre should be...14-20 but anyway..i reckon the time of each level is important. i loved the length of how long the original halo levels went. i found h2 levels way too short. so yeh.

Alright, I'll give you that. And you know, I do like the idea of a massive 16 player campaign. It could be like actual war, chaotic, hard to tell what's going on. Hmmm. Big big explosions and tracers in the air so thick you can't see what you're shooting at.
But still, multiple disks is a pain. The only reason LE H2 got away with it was because there was no form of gameplay on the 2nd disk. And it had the audio test.....

I think it should be a bit longer than the first game, with levels about the size of the first games levels, unless we're playing sandbox. Then hell, dont limit them.

I dont care if its just ONE looooooong level, I want to be able to spend a good 15 hours on NORMAL beating this game... thats pretty long for a FPS, It would make me so happy if its that long AT LEAST...

Like one big world you go in, with no limitations.

I think this would be a bad idea..I mean look at Oblivion..that graphics on that game suck. Well comepared to Halo 3 they do.

He's saying that they shouldn't put bosses in. He's not saying that there were none.
With a game like Halo, I'll agree and say that bosses don't really fit.
But in the case of Tartarus, it fit the storyline. There was really no other way to stop him from activating the ring in the story unless someone killed him.
Originally, Bungie planned on the Tartarus fight being a movie, a last showdown between the Arbiter and the brute chieftan. But they scrapped it and went with the boss level. And it worked.

20-30 Levels. Each should be the length of Assault on the Control Room, have a Beginning, Middle, and Ending cinema, and have multiple ways to complete the main mission.

I thought that the length of Halo 1 and Halo 2 were fine, Halo 2 just had no closer...at all.

9 very well done levels that each have a conclusive ending and not divided up into sort half levels by minor cutscenes as we experienced in halo 2. Such as when we had two levels per every "phase" of halo 2 such as every time we switched between arby and MC it would be two levels in his shoes and then two levels in his shoes yet those two levels could have been streamlined into one longer for the two of them.

Also no boss challenge levels. Bosses added to halo was the worst addition since gas chambers to concentration camps (both resulted in horrible results).

I agree. In my opinion, the boss levels in Halo 2 were really boring, and dull.

15 - 20 levels would be great. Halo had about ten, Halo 2 had about 15, logically Halo 3 will have about 20. ; )

I really hope Bungie is reading this, since I think I've got somekind of good idea.
There should be 2-5 large, outdoor maps, big battles, great distances.. maybe even vehicle combat. (Assault On the Control Room). Then I think most of the levels should be levels that add depth to the plot. Let say about 10 levels of these. Then maybe there should be a side-plot.. A few levels where MC / Arbiter fight and solve things. 2-5 levels.

I say this because at Halo 1 and 2 I was a little dissapointed that there are cleary the maps you play when you want to have somekind of combat. When you simply want to crush the enemies and move forward with the illusion of the feeling that you are free to go anywhere you like. Two Betrayals and Assault On The Conrol Room were the maps I and my friend played mostly, "Halo" level was good too. In Halo 2 there is Outskirts, Metropolis and Delta Halo when you want to have something like this. So simplifiedly I think there should be more than 3 maps with large, open and interesting outdoor combat.

Somebody said earlier: "it's quality, not quantity."

Lets try cramming quality, and quantity all into about 20-30 levels.
