Its feels that 343 feels the need to cater to people who live life in video game format. the benefit i see in making it less about fun, and more about competition is how little of a percentage the competative players actually are. For anyone saying the the competative players make up the bulk of the reach community, think again. the competative players camp in specific playlist and seldomly venture out.
When i began playing reach a year ago, the game play took getting used to, but it wasnt difficult. As changes were added, specifically with the title updates, the game physics actually changed. Not in so far as cheating, as thats a rarity, but reveiwing in theater many times ive found bias player phenomena that allowed some players to survive impossible scenarios like grenade spams, splatters, and multiple sniper and shot gun shots. These palyers arent cheating by any means, and it isnt always as simple a lag issue. But with further updates, im seeing more and more cases of bias game physics. Maybe theres a key element to the system that causes some unknown form of data corruption, maybe the rendering is flawed. But the game itself seems to be getting worse and worse with each new update. Dissmissal by proclaiming "adapt" is really an ignorant point of veiw if youre expecting players to adapt to faulty rendering, bias data corruption, or homogenizing playlists. People do adapt. they adapt by exemplifying their strengths by playing the fields they are better suited toward.
And for those that believe the competive players make up the majority, think again. They are only the loudest whiners. The less competitive players will simply stop playing the game, leaving only the try hards, and team killers battle it out. Much like the final days of mm in halo 3.
You can't even spell competitive right, reach catered to people like you and 343i is trying to fix the problem.
