Circa Halo 3, the HMG (heavy machine gun) turret was a thing to be feared and respected. Now, it's like a bb gun.

What had happened?

People used that thing?

No, that is what you thought it was from nostalgia. No one used it in Halo 3, when it was on The Pit, and you just got sniped off it on Standoff. It was pointless.

I like Halo 2's turrets the most.

H3s turret was too inaccurate when detached

If you ripped it/shot it off its moorings it was very useful. If you use it correctly in Reach it can still be a powerful tool.

If you were smart about when and where you used it, it was pretty awesome. It's anti-vehicle ability alone made it worthwhile.

So that is why in all 7,000 games you played in Halo 3, you only had a total of 250 Machine gun kills?

Most people did.

The best way to use it was in a teamwork-oriented setting, but most people who play Halo have no idea how to work together properly.

I sometimes tear off a turret to troll the other team in BTB.
