The Flood had a lot of atmosphere to them in Halo:CE. Listen to the music pieces that play when you first meet them (Lament for Pvt Jenkins and Devils ... Monsters if you have the soundtrack).
They were less fun to fight in Halo 2. There were no camo flood, small groups of spores (which weren't as fun to pop, nor could you easily melee attack them), and their animation was inferior. Someone already mentioned things like the jumping lunge. I think their melee attack looks a lot worse this time too.
It was also exceptionally easy to kill them. On almost every flood level, you can get a sword and kill them with ease. It's cool that you can destroy the infection form in the chest (though not cool that they can now reanimate that), but it makes it too easy.
It's also not fun having shielded ones, though camo flood (CE) were a nice challenge.
What is also funny is that they taught the flood to drive so they could add infinitely spawning vehicles to the flood part of the campaign too ...
Finally, some of the flood screams were terrible. If they're going to make sounds, they should gurgle, not scream. And they shouldn't pop when you blow their limbs off.
Btw, No Doom 3 sections this time (i.e. pitch black with a crappy flashlight)
