I think it would be good if we would discuss here about the Q & A that were picked to the Weekly Update, since it seems Bungie gave us good answers, although raising more questions than answering.
Meeper asks,
Q: Why is the Assault Rifle in there?
A: Who says it's the standard Assault Rifle? Doesn't look identical to me…
I thought about this a while ago, and now it seems that there will be some upgrades in the Assault Rifle, I thought about grenade launcher but that is clearly not the case. Does anyone have ideas what could be changed?
xTr1GGeR HaPPYx asks,
Q: I'm guessing those ruins in the back are Old New Mombasa, so, whereabouts is the Chief and this Forerunner structure?
A: That is indeed the ruins of New Mombasa. The artifact and the Chief are where they appear to be, on the desert outskirts of New Mombasa, and many miles inland. The mountain behind him is Kilimanjaro.
Now there is no doubt about this anymore. Any thoughts?
MarkoM asks,
Q: Does the canyon / hole in the trailer have something to do with New Mombasa and that spacejump the Covenant Capital Ship made at Halo 2?
A: That's an excellent question. A Slipspace jump in-atmosphere would have a devastating effect on an environment, don't you think?
So does this mean the Slipspace jump in-atmosphere could have caused the forerunner artifact.. the ark to be revealed from the ground? Could Regret cause this only by accident, was he so lucky that while meaning to destroy fairly large human city and moving from place to place quickly he dug the ark out of the earth? Think about that. Regret jumped to Delta Halo, In Amber Clad followed.. How far did the Slipspace jump cause damage? Are there other human cities nearby to notice what happened, what was discovered from the bottom of newly formed blast pit. Could humans investigate and maybe even use the artifact before / when Covenant took over?
Personally I do not think Regret could have been so lucky. After all, he came to earth with only one capital ship.. he came to that precise spot.. He came to conquer New Mombasa. But why lower troops to ground level when he could have just wiped it all, marines, chief.. everything by making that Slipspace jump? Then again.. maybe he got lucky. Other prophets informed him about the newly discovered sacred ring.. and Regret immediately took his ship and troops there.
Just Another Fan asks,
In the trailer I'm only seeing capital ships, what happened to the old covenant cruisers, will they make an appearance in the final product?
What you're seeing is an excavation force. Its makeup is purely practical.
Excavation force!? So does this abandon my own theory. Well maybe the blast didn't dig deep enough.. so capital ships were also needed to finish off. Again.. Your thoughts?
