Well, I've been quietly reading this for a while, I like the people who try to tie everything together, but honestly, if you don't believe these theories, or dislike anyone's W.A.G.'s then go entertain yourself elsewhere, rather than blaring mindless insults in l33t speak.
Also, perhaps it was a joke, but maybe they mentioned the Banshee pilots because there are no visible pilots in the banshees, to help draw attention to the otherwise negligible detail.
I agree with Captain Keyes being quite dead, however the flood that inhabited him, may still be alive, having sufficiently sapped Keyes of his thoughts and memories before the arrival of the chief.
The argument concerning High Charity being immobile, is not that it has always been immobile, but rather since the city was using the Forerunner ship as a power source it became immobile once the ship disengaged. In Amber Clad crashed, but did not detonate, therefore it's engines must still be operational. Perhaps it's slipstream drive was disabled?
The main question of this thread is "Why were the questions removed shortly after being posted?"
The general consensus seems to be that there are 9 banshees, and 7 confirmed living Spartans. As well as the chief, who's currently... well... grounded.
The trailer is (supposedly) taken from a third of the way through the game, slipspace would allow some message to arrive to the other elites on Earth that civil war had broken out and the humans could be considered allies. That would not negate Covenant control of Earth, Brutes remain apeish bad-asses.
The flashes on Master Chief's visor were lightning according to a computer graphics student in another thread, unless there is a smaller flash of light within it, that I'm not noticing. Someone mentioned a rectangular image that I just don't see. However, it is undeniable that the Master Chief makes a negligible nod. However, "the apparently negligible" seems to be Bungie's calling card.
The flood were collecting bodies, and the Gravemind on Delta Halo is supposed to be an assemblage of the Flood's victim's. The fashion of the flood that inhabited Captain Keyes did seem unique, as does the Gravemind, and nowhere else did it mention that the flood were collecting bodies. The proximity seems interesting to me.
Bungie has been able to introduce characters from the books into Halo 2 with little confusion, and without affecting the quality of gameplay for the illiterate. Case in point: the Helljumpers.
Miranda Keyes and the Arbiter were introduced main characters, as well as Tartarus and the Gravemind, did that confuse anyone too much? If not, I see no reason why Bungie can't tie in another subplot, add new characters and bring in a few people from the books.
I've babbled long enough, I'll add more when I return.
