Subject: Can not connect to a Halo: Reach server.....

Been having this problem for the last 3 days, when trying to play in Matchmaking. I have tried bypassing my router, changing cables, setting up a completely new Gold account, clearing cache, powercycling my router and modem.

Even tried taking my xbox to my parents house, and had the same problem there, with both gold accounts. Different IP address, but it is the same ISP.

My computer works perfectly fine. Able to play WOW and SWTOR just fine.

Everything else on XBOX LIVE works perfectly fine. Was able to watch youtube videos, browse my friends list, play other games online.

Funny thing is, Halo Reach, Halo Anniversary, and Halo 3 all do not work. Someone sent me a party invite the other day, and I couldn't join. when I could join earlier, they could not join matchmaking til I left.

My friend that lives 5 miles away, has a different ISP and he connects just fine. I am in Oregon by the way, in case that matters.

Spent an hour and a half on the phone with xbox live tech support. They are looking into it and are calling me back tomorrow.

Any ideas on what the problem is?

Your opinion is invalid.

What you need to do is

SHOOT A GIANT PEARL 100 FEET IN THE AIR

LIKE A CANNON BALL

yeah I posted on that forum too. Most likely it is either my ISP or the 343 servers.

People fake a lot of human interactions....but I feel as tho I fake them all......and I fake them very well...and thats my burden....I guess

It maybe a combination of the two

The problem seems to lie in the fact that new IP prefix's have been given to some users through their ISP's these new IP's begin with 101.

Since the TU happened back in October people with these 101ip addresses have been unable to access any halo matchmaking of any kind. (try booting hup H:3 or try to play ODST/CE:A and you will more then likely get the same error)

Your best bet at this time is to contact your ISP, tell them about the issue and ask them to contact xbox/microsoft so they can work on the issue, I would also call Xbox and tell them and have them call your ISP, this way you cover all bases.

At this time there is no fix for this issue. Its been happening to me for 3 weeks now ever since I upgraded my internet plan and modem.
Its been happening to some people since October.

yeah, I was on the phone with xbox live tech support for an hour and a half. He is supposed to do some more work on it and call me back tomorrow early afternoon. He seemed pretty competent.

This started happening recently. Last time I played was on Christmas day with no issues. Also, my ip address starts with 100, not 101.

I plan on going to my ISP tomorrow to let them know. Their service has been pretty good, whenever I have had a problem in the past.

It is now working.

1. Halo is NOT played on servers. It's played on a peer-peer network.
2. It's your connection. Buy a better internet package.

Inaccurate post is innacurate...
1. Yes halo is played on a p2p network, however they use servers to match those people together.

The problem lies in certain IP strings not being visable to 343i Matchmaking servers...

Nosir, actually I am quite the opposite

The problem (for ip range 101 at least) has been resolved and I can happily play all halo games once more

but thanks for being concerned about my emotional state, I appricate it
