I'm sure I'm beating a dead horse here but I have to ask.
In the Book, Fall of Reach, The Spartans started with 75. During the augmentation process, many of them were either killed or left crippled in some way, leaving the Spartan II's with i believe 32 or 35 (really don't feel like looking it up). Now from what I understand, the remaining Spartans ALL fell under Master Chief's command, forming three squads, RED, BLUE, and Green (the only other mention of any other spartans is the Spartan III project in Ghosts of Onyx). Now understand this might be incorrect since it seemed like each squad typically had 4 spartans in it. But you never hear of any other team. Is Noble team just another one of these team's? And is there any back story to Noble Six's "lone wolf" campaigns?
Also, I noticed a big hole between the two stories that can't be due to different perspectives...Cortana. In F.O.R, Cortana was simply handed over to John-117 and became the ships AI for the Pillar of Autumn. Also, the pillar of Autumn was not on the ground at any point during the covenant invasion (it was instead performing it's shakedown period before embarking on a mission with the spartan II's. However, Halo: Reach plays out a dramatic retrieval and transpo sequence of Cortana to Captain Keyes.
I'm sure that most of this is just Bungie having It's way with the story line for better game play, but if anybody can offer clarification, I'd appreciate it.
