Can some one calculate approx. where the planet Mars is during that Year/Month?
Maybe the beam is pointing to that..... just wondering...

Great theory, very well thought out. sort of...

Ummm.... Wow! That is a fantastic post. It's very convincing, and I completly agree with you. Throw a little religious coincidence in there and it would be the perfect explination.

the forerunners had to have because why would they make a weapon but not the trigger, well they had to have because they alredy used it

My Stats

"my name is random bungie forum moderator, my special power is to delete productive threads because they offend me because im a crybaby. off to give props to stupid h3 conspiracy theories"

halo diameter: 10,000 km

earth diameter: 12,000 km (roughly)

now look at the whole in the trailer, if that hole is 2,000 km's deep, then im a baby eating Tom Cruise.

Halo Empire, wow great job man... I would just like to throw in a tid bit of my theory that the Forerunner ship used to power high charity is the "safety key" if you will, to activating the ring and the ark.

Also some supporting evidence to your theory is the fact that Cortana specifically says that Halo has a Nitrogen, Oxygen atmosphere and earth normal gravity when the first halo is seen in Halo 1

"Then when absolutely necessary, at the last possible moment they retreat to the Arc located under the ice of the Arctic or Antarctic (Hey I just noticed both those names have the word Arc in them "AntARCtic" & "ARCtic".)"

Besides the fact that it's the ARK, I think it would be located in Africa, seeing as that's where humanity first emerged and evolved. So the thing in the trailer could be the Ark, I don't know.

It would only be 1000km deep. You have to cut the 2000 in half

I find two things wrong with this theory.
One, if there was a Halo buried in the Earth, how would they have gotten the Flood into it? All of the Halos store Flood, so there'd have to be some in it. It would also be in the mantle layer of the Earth, which would mean there wouldn't be a way to get into it to activate it unless some tunnel was built.
Two, if they hid in the Ark, and it did somehow protect them from Halo's blast, when they came out there'd still be Flood everywhere... because Halo kills Flood's food, so they wouldn't starve immediately.
Good ideas though...

i agree with this theory except maby about the teleportation part, but i have a little bit more to add on. In the biginning of H2 we find the the fleet that destroyed reach was 50 times bigger than the one at earth. We find that the covenant wern't expecting us to be there, and we learn later on that the covenant "renewed there faith in the proficy (sp?) that other rings would be found." I think this means regret had faith that a ring was under the earths crust, sent in an excavation team, and humans were there...

Maybe a spherical halo is buried under the earth?

I must say that this is a good theory going on here. However, I'm a little skeptical about the Halo under the Earth's crust. Maybe the Halo is above Jupiter or maybe it's strewn across the surface of Venus (Venus is slighty smaller than Earth you know).

My theory is that the Earth is the Arc. What else would have the size, magnitude, and power of the Earth to trigger all of the Halo's at once? And why not have the backup trigger at your home base? Since there are theories flying around saying that the forerunners came from Earth, this would make sense. Yes the beams from Delta Halo and the Halo 3 trailer are the same. Yes the designs of both the Halos and the Earth dig site are the same. The main difference is that this "device", so called, on Earth is HUGE! Much bigger than anything on Halo's or Delta Halo's surface. And certainly much bigger than the trigger device on Delta Halo.

This is all mere speculation, mind you. However, I am convinced that Earth is the "Big Trigger" so to speak. We'll just have to wait and see.

If your not right, ill be surprised because i see it too. What were seeing in the trailer does look like one of the panels in the wallpaper. Also while the artifact is opening youll notice that the dirt and dust splits off in 4 directions diagonal from one another, just like the section in the wallpaper. One thing that baffles me though is when the artifact is opening, on the inside of it, like along the rim of it, you notice like a bright blueish white light with what seems like darker spots, now on the Delta Halo Exterior, you notice that the part of the Halo where you can see the land masses, you can kind of make them out in the trailer, im just not certain

Earth is the Ark. Most likely Africa. My friend and I were discussing this. I think if anything, it might be another Halo. If I remember correctly, if you listen to Guilty Spark(what a freak) in the library level in Halo 1, He says "Oh I am so glad that SOME of the forerunners were able to find a planet and reproduce" or something like that.

"The installation was specifically built to study and contain the Flood. Their survival as a race was dependent on it. I am grateful to see that some of them survived to reproduce." Page 237 of The Flood. He was obviously talking about the Flood, not Forerunners.

i disagree with the halo under the crust of the earth theory for one reason the main thing in this one is the trigger not the weapon but i am not agreeing with it being the ark also because they cannot give away key points in the game on the trailer or any trailer to come

I had not thought about this before, but the ark may actually be another Halo. I guess there may be a Halo in every game after all.

I believe that the Ark was there before earth and that it created earth.

Does anyone know if New Mombasa is on the equator?

Boom headshot

man iv'e got to say ure theory is plausible and your a freaking genius . the thing out it being a scarab gun wouldnt work though cause a scarab gun shoots straight out where as to the thing in the clip kind of eclipses everything. thats my 2 cents

the ark could not be a halo since the ark holds the final trigger and it dosnt matter if mombasa is on the equator since if you look at the ending movie on H2 the map at the end shows more halo's right, and there is a giant one then all the others fit in one another

10,000kms from inner rim to inner rim + 22.3x2 for the Halo's structural thickness = 10,044.6kms. Still fits inside Earths diameter
yeah but it wouldn't be that close to the surface. (i didn't mean to be so judgemental in my previous post sorry.)

Maybe not all the Halos are the exact same size... ever think of that? :D

They aren't. At the end of Halo 2 all of the halos shown in that image, where 343 Guilty Spark say that the halos are ready for remote activation, are different sizes
