Sega Mega Drive, Golden Axe and Sonic all day!
I agree, ive just spent about 3 hours reading through this (not all at the same time thank gawd) and if its not in the "threads of interest" sticky already it should be.
Right, well. as i was reading, few things came to mind.
- Religious scripture dictates that the Earth was created over 7 periods of time. (NOT 7 days, the translation into english simply reads as days to save confusion)
Bungie has a thing for the number 7. Might be nothing, but interesting for the idea that the earth was built around the halo/arc, not the other way around.
- The.....be right back me teas ready.
Back.
Ok, i think the only theory not really do-able, even in a science fiction, is that the structure is a thruster intended for moving a planet. Its a PLANET. The only thing throwing it out of orbit is the gradual weakening of the Sun.
- Final point, those of you already around pre-halo 2 might remember some rumours going round about there being a moon level, complete with anti-grav battles and jetpacks and such. There was a picture doing the rounds at the time, of the cheif in orbit on a pelican (i think it was a pelican) with the moon in the background. Many people thought they could make out a faint ring around the moon, looking exactly like a Halo. It mightve been nothing, and it certainly wasnt round the moon last time i looked up, but it mightve been an artistic clue towards the plot, a clue towards the moon being part of the final earth-based chapter. So maybe the structure from the trailer is pointing at the moon for some reason?
But y'know, Bungie are good at this kinda stuff. Any theories we make, the actual plot will be ten times as deep and thouroughly thought over. And they monitor these forums, should any theory even come close to any part of the plot, i bet they have 2 or 3 backup plot threads to ensure everyone is surprised come release.
Tea was excellent, by the way.
