I mean earth is surounded by those space stations with MAC guns that can destroy or badly damage a capital ship shouldent they have taken care of the fleet. I know the covent had borded a few of them but there were hundreds of them. Also i thought the eilets (spelling) hunters etc had joined forces with us to stop the profits and there followers.

But its nice to see that halo 3 will be based on earth.

This apple is brown, and rotten. This orange on the other hand, is in relatively average shape. So the orange is definitely the preferable option.
----------You can't compare apples and oranges. You're so dumb.

When billions of your species have died in the past twenty years of war and the enemy appears at yoru frotn step with more then a thousand ships your pretty much screwed... esspessially when they had already taken out a good 5 during halo 2.

Well its strange how Cortana refers to not earth ending but the world because although the rings can destry alot of crap they arn't big enough to take out everythingi in existence.

...gawd i love being a gamer right now...

The covenant has a massively larger fleet, even without the elites and hunters. and grunts, and massively more destructive weapons and stronger shields than the humans have. It would be pretty easy for them to take over earth.

when regret came to earth with a much smaller fleet than the one at reach, he made it to ground.

so, when cortana says 'thats the largest covenant fleet anyone has ever seen' i dont think theyd have too much trouble.

when i think about it there were A lot of smaller ships that could have border all of the weapons platforms while they were busy with the capital ships.

Guns don't kill people, physics kills people!
They're not gey, they're Hobbits!
Moo...

Not to mention Master Chief wasn't there to protect Earth for most of the war ;-)

How can we win we're an inferior race to the covenant. They have elites, hunters and brutes, all of which are built for war. Most or our species are mere civilians therefore easy pickings.

Oh but we have the Chief.

I'm certifiable.

On the battlefield, Humans have a chance; but in space the Humans have had their butts kicked over-and-over unless they had huge odds in their favour. (And even then, the Human fleet was in rough shape afterwards.)

Looks like the MAC platforms weren't enough to turn the tide.

the elites and hunters are at war with the brutes and profits as far as i could tell from the end of halo 2.
that should have evened the odds a bit but the brutes alone are strong.

I think that the Covenant and the Humans are going to make a alliance, because hostility towards each other isnt really the biggest problem right now, its not the top priority... the flood are. So about this thread, earth hasnt really lost a fight yet, I think the real one is going to happen in H3. Not mentioning the fact the covenant is uncovering a new halo below earths surface... :S Its kinda confusing because i dont know how MC got bak on earth after he was on a Covenant ship at the end of the game...? Kinda weird but like many other people believe, the covenant has so much more power then the Humans, their way more advanced, it has to be only a matter of time until at least someone makes an alliance.

most of those space stations were blown up with the same type of bomb that Master Chief hand delivered back to its senders. so they pretty much used terroristic tactics against us...hehe.

The Halo's weren't designed to destoy the Universe or take everything out...they were designed to kill all sentient life within a large enough radius to deprive the Flood Infection Forms of food for growth, thus rendering the parasite harmless...

There is no way the covenent will ally with the humans, maybe Elites/Hunters will but that is also doubtful. The Covenent [i] HATE [i] the humans. The humans hate the covenent even more they irrationally killed billions of citizens and soilders an alliance is not possible. It would spark rebellions on the human side and the covenent side.
