They are not that unrealistic. In most films and games you finish with a final fight against your most powerfull advasery. Im not bothered if there isn`t any in halo 3 but if there is its still good. Boss battles are a natural part of gaming.

I shoot Tartarus with a beam rifle, no effect. Sarge shoots him with his beam rifle, and his shields drop?

I'd be interested in who came up for the idea of having holographic images of an enemy firing actual plasma.

Oh.. so it should be like every other game? Ok then. How about we get rid of the recharging shlied then? It's so Halo 1, and hardly any other games use it, shield pickups is how other games would do it. While your at it, I don't recall being restricted to just two weapons in most other games, take that off too and let us run around with our magic sack of 12 weapons. Oh and in Super Mario Bros there's an electric star pickup which gives you invincibility.. there's none in this game! What gives?! Put it in at once!

boss battles are cool, as long as they dont dominate the level. I dont wanto feel like i just played half an hour straight just to fight some random guy who is somehow more powerful then his brethren.

The Halo 2 bosses had purpose, Tartarus, prophet of regret, etc. So thats why i liked them.
