Subject: Does K/D mean anything ?

I'm going to invade your heart like a barn swallow high on milk chocolate and grandma love.

Fairness is only possible within the limited powers of man. Elsewhere, there is only chance.

Thus I refute thee.

Well it depends on the gametype.

It means kill-to-death.

It's a spread, like Kraft Dinner when you cook it too long. It becomes Kraft Dinner spread.

Try it on toast.

Real account.

Join me as we make new friends from different communities!

If you assign every letter of the alphabet a number, a is 1, b is 2, etc., and you take all of the values of the word "MATH", and add them, you get 42. So math is the meaning of life, the universe, and everything.

It tells you how many kills you get per death.

Forget it man, and get with the countdown. Shake this square world and blast off for Kicksville.

Reach host ranking algorithm: (a*quit_percentage + b*isMexican + c*(1/KDR) + d*hasGuest) * 100
where a > b = d > c

I don't agree with your definition of a win. Top half is and always has been in FFA.

As far as ranking up goes, perhaps. But then you can say your win percentage is as high as Naded's, which seems a little disingenuous.

Just my take on it, anyway.

What's K/D o.o ?
K=Kill(s)
D=Death(s)

Burn Bright, Burn Blue, Burn Eternal, Forever and Always

Well yes and no, your k/d shows your kills and deaths, anyone who plays Grifball normally has a horrible overall k/d, your k/d needs to be in the range of 0.80-1.00, unless you play for the -blarg- of it like a lot of my friends and me, now if your in a clan your almost always getting yelled at or there trying to make you change at something your fine at (-cough- my situation -cough-) then your skills will decrease due to pressure and change, betraying will lower your k/d also (DON'T LOOK AT ME EVEN THOUGH I GET ATLEAST 1 PER GAME!), just have fun and bag some noobs.

Rank: Hero
Burn bright, Burn Blue, Burn Eternal, Burn The Guy Beside You

I'm listeni- Oh wait I don't give a -blam!- what you have to say.

A neg k/d almost always means that player is bad, but a positive k/d doesn't mean they are good. It is easy to maintain a 2+ k/d by playing default playlists. If you're an MLG kid it will probably be between 1 and 2.
Overall k/d usually doesn't mean anything.

People say that K/D means nothing when they have a negative K/D.
Does having a high K/D mean you are good ? What do you think ?

Of course K/D means something. More often than not, the higher your K/D, the better you are individually. There are always factors which will affect how well your K/D reflects your actual skill, such as suicides, kill-stealing, and focusing on kills in objective based games.

I myself have a relatively low K/D, but that's mainly because for the first month I played I put my sensitivity onto 10 and played alot of SWAT :/ About 3 months ago my K/D was .6. (you can check my most recent games to see I've improved heaps and that my K/D is not actually 1.10)

Every single pummel I have is unboosted.
I play GGL. (Grifball)
I hit inheritor 14/1/12. 16 months after release. I have a life fellas.
Every single killionaire I have is unboosted. 22 from grifball, 4 from LD.

A K/D over 1.00 means you are helping your team.
A K/D under 1.00 means you are not helping your team.

3rd onyx you got is downshift, pretty unique tbh.
OT,I know a person thats quite a formidable rank to get that has a K/D of .4, on top of that, his No.2 for Bomb plants overall and has about 140k deaths.

I play a lot of Rumble Pit and run at 2.5k/d and 92% W/L - there is a direct positive correlation between the two measures.

Top 33% isn't really a win. It's just the best of the losers. Your actual win percentage is 52.5%

Now this guy runs Rumble Pit.

I don't agree with your definition of a win. Top half is and always has been in FFA.

Naded is a beast.

1st = top half
Top half != 1st

If you don't understand.
Finishing first means you won and finished in the top half of the board.

Simply finishing in the top half of the board doesn't necessarily mean you won.
Finishing 2-3-4th is not a win.

K/D does matter. It is a representation of one's skill (albeit not a particularly reliable one). I judge players through K/D, though I don't persecute them.

only tryhards think k/d matters. These games have made us turn on eachother, they are supposed to be fun

It's human nature to try and be better than the next.

This. I'm conflicted about stats.

They're very informative, and it's impressive how much information gets recorded, but at the same time... things seemed much more carefree back in the Halo 2 days.

Only bad players think K/D is meaningless.

See how easy that was?

  • 01.12.2012 5:54 PM PDT

It means squat. You have good games, you have bad games. Sometimes you get lucky and go on killing sprees, and other times you aren't so fortunate and die a lot.

I never judge people based on their stats - I judge them based on how they play when I'm playing with you.

People never consider K+A/D anymore. They should, since people have certain roles in the team.

Brb they have a low-ish KD but onyx in downshift.
Brb 5+ assists a game on average.

(Though specifically speaking you should still be able to maintain a KD over 1).
