More of an analogy than a fact so I will just make this plain and simple.
Halo Combat Evolved released on November 15, 2001 as a launch title for the Xbox gaming system, and is considered the platform's "killer app". The Game swooped in with
1.1 million copies sold, and that number increased over the next few months by double that amount.
Appetite for Destruction is the debut studio album by American rock band Guns N' Roses, released in July 1987 on Geffen Records. It was well-received by critics and topped the American Billboard 200 chart. As of September 2008, the album has been certified 18 times Platinum by the RIAA, accumulating worldwide sales in excess of 28 million as of October 2008.
According to Gamespot, Halo's "numerous subtle innovations have been borrowed by countless other games since."
The game's sequel, Halo 2, made US$125 million with unit sales of 2.38 million on the first day of its release, earning it the distinction of the fastest-selling United States media product in history .Three years later, Halo 3 shattered that record with the biggest opening day in entertainment history, taking in US$170 million in its first 24 hours.
Guns N' Roses next ablum Use your Illusion 1 together along with Use Your Illusion 2 sold more than 34 Million copies
Worldwide.
Sadly Both these great entertainment Icons Took a turn for the worst some worse than others, I'm not going to sit here and tell you which Halo Game was the worst because honestly I love them all. The reason many people hated Reach so much was simply because they do not like change and many also thought that by the time Gears of War 3 came out this game would be dead but In reality its still doing well and Halo Combat Evolved Anniversary was a great step in getting fans back.
Guns N' Roses took a heavy hit when its members were indifferent to the direction the band was going in. Because of the lead vocalist's dictating it broke apart and it went downhill but now the North American tour is starting and fans are starting to hope for a reunion or the original members. The same hope that people have for Halo 4, the hope that if I'ts successful the world will acknowledge it and love it the same way the did back in the day.
"Halo will ever die as long as its fans are there". -IGN
