Do you guys think that we have a posibility to have H3 in the original xbox, cause it will take me long to but a 360. But i think that would be cool to have H3, and also the graphics on the original xbox are not too bad.

Extremely unlikely to have H3 back-ported to the original Xbox; H2 pushed the old 'box to the limits, and H3 looks to exceed even H2's requirements.

-- Steve's thinking that an H3 written for old 'box would be as much work as creating a whole new game.

Nice idea but its not going to happen relisitically. It seems to be all about moving forward. They would have to create a whole differnt game engine for an xbox version, and you would miss out on so much.

By that time the PS3 will be out and microsoft will have dropped the price so the 360 will look even better, so you migh be able to get a bundle with 360 and halo 3 for cheaper than the price of the 360 now.

A year is plenty of time to save up.

It only looks to exceed? the Xbox would blow up trying to run that H3 teaser trailer alone :)

the game will most likely come out next spring

so you have around a year to get 240$, due to the price drop in a few months

dont sweat it

Just hock your old box. The 360 is back/compat anyway. No reason to have two machines too play the same games.

$10 a week?

52 weeks in a year x $10 = $520, plenty for 360, games, controllers, etc!

I am...whimsical today.

For 10 a week, it will take me long. :(
Then by next year you'll have $570 :) and then you'll probaby have about 3-4 months before it comes out (assuming it follows the same trend as the previous titles)

EDIT: haha, too slow :P

I'm one of those storm chasers that will never have a TV show because I don't scream at clouds.

Well, there are still some games that require the old Xbox to play. The older games come to mind (Heroes of the Pacific, Crimson Skies, Mechassault[?], etc.). If you don't have a job but still make $10 per week, that implies an allowance, so it is perfectly feasable to save up 400 bucks by the time Halo 3 comes out. Just make sure you just ask for money come christmas and perhaps your birthday. Also, if you are still in school, you could try buying your lunch to get extra $$ from the parents. That's what I did my junior year. Lunch only cost $2 per day (chicken nuggets and water), and the folks gave me $15 per week. That's an extra $5 a week my friend. After all, Halo 3 is at least 30 weeks away, and the $10 allowance will put you at 300 right there, then you could probably get the other hundred from holidays. SAVE SAVE SAVE

(Note: I'm figuring minimum price here: $300 for the core system, $60 for the game, and $40 for a memory card)

ok for one, bill gates is -blam!-. 360 is not worth 300 to 400 dollars. just like when the first batch of xboxs came out they died, same with the 360s. my friend has had one for 2 weeks now and it freezes up. Gates needs to put a lil more time into the 360s just like sony is with the PS3s....

Omg, why would you want to play it on xbox? I want the full experience, not half of it, the full 100%.

If Halo 3 could even start on a regular Xbox, I'd go insane. Games that play on PC that look much worse than Halo 3 and other 360 games need so much more requirements than the 360, so if a 360 game like this could play on the Xbox, we would definitely know that Bungie slacked off somewhere.

Halo 3 cannot run with 256MB of shared RAM like the Xbox 1 has, neither can it run with a 64MB Geforce 3 + 2 Pixel shaders either. It uses DirectX 7 technology, and HDR lighting which is in Halo 3 needs a DirectX 9 card or higher to run, which the 360 has, as it has a cross between DX 9 and DX 10 video card.

Im not saying its not possible, but to see quality like you saw in the trailer on an Xbox 1, not gonna happen.
