First I would like to say to everyone please read the books and do the campaign.

Alright now onto business. There are several theories that there is a halo ring under earths surface, this is quite impossible. First if there was, the ring would be 50x smaller then a normal ring. Second according to the books Halo(s) were built to contain or hold the flood. With this said that would mean ther would be flood under Halos surface. Wrong though because we would all be extinct. Why? If you read the books when the hell jumpers and marines set up the base on reach, they discovered from Jenkins(when he was locked up and in flood form) that there were flood underneath them and they were coming. The flood knew where the humans or any life were without actaully knowing, it is there sense. They did everything to try and get them. My point is if there was flood life under the earth's surface, then we would have know because of technology and the flood would have found a way to get us by now. However there could be something instead of a ring under our surface. Once again maybe a control room that has every location of every ring, control of each ring, and hidden mysteries, It might be in the shape of a ball, it doesn thave to be a ring. Another idea is that the structure was just covenant made. While we cannot predict what it is for, the covenant engineers can build huge structures really fast. These are just some ideas post yuor oppinions.

To further add a a ring would have no purpose under the earths surface. Oce again a ring was created by the forerunners to hold the flood, if they ever escaped the ring could be activated and kill everything within a certain radius. The idea of a control room would also suggest that we maybe are the forerunners, they created a control romm to control all the rings on our home planet.

What that big machine thing reminds me of is the Death Star which it activates all the Halos. (Earth > Death Star) But it is the ark but I like Death Star better :)

it must be the ark or why would the covenant have come to earth in the first place. And if regret was on the ship going to the ark and MC followed why is he on earth

The Covenant already knew the Ark was there and the whole situation itself implies the Ark is on Earth. Otherwise, why would the the Covenant have spared Earth. They would have glassed it like all the other planets.

Wait, so isn't this thread dealing with the same thing the other thread is? The one called "The Earth holds a Halo under it's surface!" or whatever? Go use that.

A Halo buried in Earth isn't impossible!!! Diameter of Delta Halo and Alpha Halo were 10.000 meters, thats a bit smaller then the Diameter of Earth.
