Subject: Do your friends like Halo?

Halo 2 > Halo 3 > Halo 3 ODST > Halo Reach > Halo CE

Based on campaigns.

At my school, all my friends are suddenly starting to hate Halo. My friend who introduced me to Halo hates it now. All my other friends say its either crap, its for nerds or COD is better.

Seriously, before Halo was everyones favourite game and now i'm singled out for loving it to bits while they all play COD and Battlefield and call it ghey and retarded and crap.

Do YOUR friends like Halo?

Leon > HUNK > Wesker > Ada > Jill > Claire > Chris

If you counted friends in real life, no, if you count my friends list, then yes.

Inheritor #156 :p

Most of my friends don't really play games, they don't hate it but it's not a game they will put in to play for fun, sometimes.

Halo was every ones favorite game before Reach came out and killed it for most people, cod kept getting better and more popular and is why the top 3 spots for 2011 went to cod.

Most of my friends don't really like Halo.

cod kept getting better

How does the same game every year get better?

  • 01.12.2012 12:32 PM PDT

Hi.

Actually a lot of them used to. They got discouraged when ODST came out, and then Reach just cut the thread that was keeping them interested in Halo all together.

:/

How does a copy and paste of the same game get better?

Some of them do. Hard to play Reach though when you have Skyrim, Gears 3, Battlefield 3, Modern Warfare 3, Saints Row 3, and Assains Creed 3

LIES! number 3 isn't even out yet.

ot: The game was getting bad rep as it was now the fan base is split and people are worrying about how the new company will handle things with this and a bad T U one can question what is happening with the franchise.

My friends use to but reach was just really boring when all you were seeing is the dull greyness of Forge world and with no other map to counter it.

Name's John. I'm a 21-year-old firefighter/EMT from lolhio who doubles as a die-hard Halo fan. I've been enjoying the franchise since 2001. My favorite iteration of Halo would have to be Halo 2 simply because I never got to experience the joy of a full-on Halo: CE LAN.

If you have any other questions, feel free to ask.

Oh yeah, and boot Zome.

Yeah. I kind of popularized it among my friends. They all got Halo 2 because they played CE with me. I was like the first kid at my school to get Xbox Live (way back in 7th grade). Flash forward to high school, all the douchenozzles of the school were starting to get into Xbox Live with Halo and Call of Duty and would frequently try to challenge me because my friends would always be talking about how good I was (which, compared to them I'm pretty much a god). I enjoyed pooping all over them. They'd get mad but still pretend they were awesome at the games.

It was lulz.

Today, when my friends come back to town from whatever distant college they're attending, we hold LAN parties like the good old days.

  • 01.12.2012 12:38 PM PDT

Sorta. A few of them think it's cool, some are indifferent to the series.

I have friends who like Halo and friends who prefer CoD.

I'm better than all of them at both though.

idk how anyone hates ODST. I just played through the campaign 3 times and I enjoyed every second of it.

Nope. SouthPole isn't a person. He's the avatar of the force of tryhards everywhere. He stalks the web looking for retards to set straight. He can not be stopped by mere bans or thread locks for he shall rise anew.

They don't like it, but they also don't hate on it. My friends respect Halo and admit it's better than COD, but that doesn't make them like it.

I don't hate ODST, but I don't enjoy it as much as others (excluding Reach, of course). I like using human weapons in campaign, and I feel like ammo is scarce for them unless you're near a cache. Even then you seem to burn through it in no time. It's just kind of frustrating for me. I've been thinking about playing again. Still have to get Endure, after all.

  • 01.12.2012 12:47 PM PDT

:D

I don't have much people on my friends list. But most of them were playing Halo a lot; until Reach came out. Now they are playing either Mw3/Bf3 or other games. Occasionally they play Reach.

IRL friends, they're PS3 owners or PC owners. Only about 3 - 5 people on my friends list are people that I actually know, they all like Halo. But since I know them in real life, we usually do something else; eg paintball etc. When we do go on Halo, it is prob like once every 1-2 weeks. Other than that we are busy with school/University etc.

Of course we play other games too.

My Dream DLC Post.

Not really. They'll play it if I manage to convince them.

That's a good point. I love the silenced SMG but it burns through ammo ridiculously quick.

Which is why I only use it on Grunts and Jackals and then I have either a covenant plasma weapon for shields or a power weapon to go along with it. Most of the time I walk around with a Carbine/Beam Rifle though.

Delusions and Grandeur.

I don't know. One by one, my friends just stopped liking Halo. On my XBL friends list, it's a different story, but at school, I'm the only one that still even plays and likes Halo. It's sad :(

That's what I usually end up doing too. There comes a time where I just give up on using human weapons because I don't feel like running all over creation for ammo.

That's honestly my only major grievance with ODST- the simple fact that they didn't really seem to balance out human weapon ammo that well. You'd think you'd be able to find a good bit just lying around seeing as how there were massive battles all over the city during the day. Rookie needs him some Scavenger Pro. lol

Life is a journey, if you spend all of it with your nose in your map, you may miss some of the best parts.

They love Halo, but are not competitive players. All the competitive players I know IRL play CoD or TF2.

  • 01.12.2012 1:02 PM PDT

Boltshot = mini shotgun

Only one of my friends plays Halo with me sometimes.
Everyone else in my school is overly obsessed with the newest COD saying it's "the best game ever".
My ass.

I agree. I would have preferred that the SMG and Pistol be more powerful, but oh well. Compared to the rest of the ODST sandbox I feel like Bungie did a good job. I never thought I'd pick up a plasma rifle or needler in the campaign but they do really well in ODST.

I'm biased though cause ODST is my favorite game.
