The sky reminds me of the slipspace tunnel on halo2 could the Forerunner installation on Earth be sending the planet somewhere else?

In Fall of Reach, it is mentioned that asteriods can occasionally be pulled into slipspace. You might be on to something...

kinda, I think the crystal recovered from Reach could give enough power to Transport the Earth somewhere say when the Halo rings are activated far away from the blast.

It's an interesting idea actually.

When once S'pht fought in brutal combat, when hatred burned the tissues of one's enemy, one clan, the S'pht'Kr, reclusive and solitary, abandoned Lh'owon.

The clan went forth and up, stopping on K'lia the third sister of Lh'owon, to build a new home, free from their warring brothers.

For a thousand and one orbits, the clan was forgotten, lost upon the battlefield smoke, until the all powerful Y'rr sent K'lia out to the stars.

I knew it!

from halo`s story page "The Forerunner perished (or fled) some 100 000 years ago"

the ark may activate the remaining rings and it may also create a slip space window ( I think that is the right term for it) and transport the earth and every thing in its atmosphere to another galaxy and that means that both covenent and the humans were right in a way I think.

the forunners may have done the same thing

Not a bad theory really.

It would give an interesting way for the Humans to escape the Covenant control without killing them. Possibly putting Earth inside of the slip-space while the Halo's firing; long enough for the universe to be cleaned and the people on Earth safely away.

Its weird how the installation was right below the blast in New Mombasa too, of all the places it could be.

Well I doubt it's coincidental that Regret went there. He was looking for something, but getting his ass kicked, so he left.

Who says that Delta Halo was actually found while Regret was on Earth?

All we hear is that they found a new one, which most people suspect to mean while Regret was on Earth.

the covenent believe that when the rings are activated the it will send them on a great journey. Right

and according to the montiors the rings will contain the flood infestation which is what the humans also believe.

this may or maynot be related but when the Chief and arbiter are talking to the Gravemindat the bottom of the library the Gravemind says "this ones containment and this ones great journey are one in the same."

that may coincide with my theory.

correct me if I'm wrong.

the covenent would have learned of where the ark is adn the rings true perpose when they interagated Guilty spark.

again correct me if I'm wrong because I want to have a solid theory

I didnt say he found anything, it is somehow coincidental his slip-space tunnel blew a hole at that location, maybe the Forerunners knew the future similar to how Cortana spoke of "the future" in the trailer.

I've been around these parts for almost eight years now...wow! Maybe I should be concerned about that...

Maybe...though it is seemingly impossible to project anything larger than a few square miles into the slipstream.

The crystal recovered from Reach had a huge slip-space bubble, Earth might have one too.

lol just an odd thought/play on words.
if, or onces the rings are activated, will the great journey be for the activators? the flood? or someone else? what if the rings are there as a trigger for bringing back the forerunners from where ever they have taken refuge from?

It is possible that humans aren't killed by Halo's...go to the library forum and read the definitions at the top. And then think what is in the library, what it does, and what the Halo's do.

I'm one of those storm chasers that will never have a TV show because I don't scream at clouds.

This theory sounds oddly like Zonama Sekot from Star Wars: Rogue Planet. Strange coincidence, what with planets in slipspace and all.
