Is that Sugar in that top picture? That is indeed a trip down nostalgia lane... She had such a high voice lol

A friend of mine told me that she became a pr0nstar after she left the Zone, but I don't think that's true...

no sorry not a p0rnstar. she did the voice acting for sailor-moons litle sister.

Analysis:
Clock Man may or may not have been on Pinwheel

There are many animatons like it, with similar characters, facing similar problems

We have sent an email to a supposed producer.

Santa's ordered the videos

Not much to go on.....
PS I'm back in the search. I was losing sleep over this.

  • 01.16.2012 6:02 PM PDT

I spent 4 1/2 hours earchig last night. I have not recieved my Pinwheel DVDs as of yet (it didn't give me a chance to overnight - I sent it priority mail). Came up with a few new things. No news from the Pinwheel producer though. Let me answer some of these guys first...

Your post inspired me to do a search on "The Boogeyman" in different languages. Many of the international translations are remarkably similar. 3 were close.
1. (Yours) "bonhome sept-heurs" (or 7 o'clock man) would show up inside children's bedrooms and take them at 7 o'clock.

2. l'uamo nero (Italian for "The black man") was a skinny man dressed in a black cloak and steals children away for extended periods of time - then returns them home.

3.Le Croque - mitane (another French translation meaning "Mitten Bitier") Shares a similar discription to the Italian version - except for that he forms "black portals" inside the bedroom of children in order to enter and steal them away.

I searched through lots of internaitonal versions of "Boogeyman" and these were as close as I could get. I figured that if I could find a close match - and then pair that name with a children's show I'd have luck. Unfortunately I came up empty again.

For the life of me I cannot remember exactly where Clock Man takes the boy after they leave his room. I can only remember that the places were scary - and the boy wanted to go home. Sorry.

Calliope... Yes, I remember that show too. The period fits as well. I'll start my search tonight around this show. Maybe a new lead will come up.

Posted by: Nuku
1. In 1984 - I was 5/ in kindergarten. It was one of those days in kindergarten whilst home sick when I saw Clock Man. 1984 is the target year, could be sooner though.

2. 98% sure it was stop motion - more specifically kind of felt like as well.

3. I did indeed order those DVDs via priority mail. Unlike you, I didn't see an option to overnight them or you bet your ass I'd have paid extra to get that footage into my house.

Today's Special came on right after Pinwheel. 2 nighta ago I did a lot of checking on Today's Special, but as far as I could find, the show did not have independent shorts away from the main characters of the show. If you find something about it I couldn't though - please post it.

Posted by: NarwhalSlayer99
As mentioned above, I have not recieved the DVDS yet. I had them shipped via priority mail for $5.00. (It was the only option I had available to me. As soon as they get to my house I'm watching every second of them.

Dude...that's freaking awesome and a good idea. I'm going to put it in the OP. Thank you for doing that. Hopefully that animation will trigger something in other people my age that can add to narrowing down the short. If we can find someone that can remember where Clock Man took the boy after the bedroom scene - WE WIIL FIND HIM. Everyone's memories of him all focus around the bedroom scene though. Someone has to remember the second part of the short.

Many of those shows are a bit too new to be in the time period Clock Man is hiding in (Save for Sesame Street.) Although that did remind me of a show on WMHT called "THE LETTER PEOPLE" that might have some connections. I'll check that out tonight as well.

- My personal searching gameplan for tonight is to do some more searching about "Boogeyman" translations/discriptions from other countries to try and find a match.
- Also going to check out Calliopie" and "The Letter People"
- One last area I'm also checking is the old cartoon called "The Real Ghostbusters" The Ghostbusters in that cartoon chased their main nemisis THE BOOGEYMAN.
The Boogie Man IS NOT CLOCK MAN - but he shares alot in common with him, so I'm hoping I can jump around links starting from there.

To anyone still left searching - thank you.

I have awaited this moment for the past sixty years; This moment being a victim of mine remembering the fun that we shared.

I remember you, indeed. The day of my prestige, and his haunting to begin. He sat their quiet, yet chills rippled through your body. You could not scream, unknowing from where I came.

I snatched you with glee, yet you stiffened with absolute horror at your own creation. Your fear turned against you, I entered your mind.

I am sad you remember me from only TV, for I thought this memory burned in your head; Do you not even remember my face? The face you called terrible?

We will meet again, for I am back; Having awaited for at least one child to remember me. And now the moment is here, so full of opportunity. We shall await our reunion.

I'll see you soon, my child, your mind will be stronger I'm sure, but this time breakable to say the least.

Agreed. All the changes are good and add variety. Do we really want another Halo 3? Just running around with one gun and no armor abilities? It's good that 343 wants to try something new. Do we really want the same thing for three more games?

Sir, we understand your feeling of urgency and worry on the matter.

However, I, and the good folks of the FDP have made it our sole duty to catch this perpetrator, and bring him to justice.

OP, is this the same show that Clock Man played a role in?

Second note; I almost thought I had the video. The beginning of the episode starts with a child going to sleep with a clock right beside his bed.

"It's not who I am underneath, but what I do that defines me."

You gave me the year of 1984. I went searching and found a list of stop-motion films

A Nightmare on Elmstreet came out in 1984, which i thought was interesting. It has to do with dreams...and scary stuff.

I then started searching for 1980 claymation shorts, finding this. Nothing. Of course, this is just the US version.

I did come across something. it said that Pinwheel usually ended with a starry night and moon.

Searching for overseas 1970s-1980s claymation, but I doubt I'll find much :(

Now instead of a comic it's a cartoon that plays frame by frame.

Man, I've only been involved in this since like page 15 and I feel like I've already exerted every option. I've gone through a searched in several languages and e-mailed everyone I could think of. I have no idea what else I can do.

You know, this is probably the greatest example of the Flood banding together as a team I have ever seen. I feel some real brotherhood here you guys.

Dammit, someone give me a hug.
