Over an hour of Mel-O-Toons in this video. Could be in there.

definitely not Mel-O-Toons

Shoot. I had the opportunity to be one of the first replies to this thread. I remember thinking "Eh. It'll go nowhere."

And now the OP is practically famous.

Anyone try this?

Subject: CLOCKMAN avoids capture - hides behind "Oz"

I'm sorry that I posted the red herring "The Red Shoes" earlier today. I was just really excited - but misinformed.

As mentioned by many of you - I lokked up the description of Mel-o Toons' Red Shoes on Wiki after the SOPA blackout (I tried the escape thing mentioned by Duardo - but I am not gud with compter).

Indeed, that short is based on the fable written by Hans Christian Anderson - and is not related to Clock Man either.

I've made the appropriate edits to the OP (see clue #9). I'm currently trying to search around ways that omit the Wizard of Oz from my searches but I do not know how. Anyone that can share how to omit The Wizard of Oz from the current info we know would be of great help.

I'll add those to the OP as well under being ruled out. The Snow Queen in particular is creepy, but Clock Man is not there.

Posted by: Point_Sketch
I have spent the last few hours pouring over Mel-o Toons, New World Productions, and Thornton Burgess and could not find a connection to Clock Man. I'm trying to focus on the new info provided by oOMr. CheesyOo now, but as mentioned above, The Wizard of Oz is Clock Man's new hiding place. Every time I search for him - it's buried under "OZ" info - which is not what we are looking for

Posted by: Beast BoyNZ
I hope so...
and yes - it has been ruled out.

Posted by: Nuku
You and Point_Sketch were right. It's not Mel-o Toons and it's not The Red Shoes.

Posted by: pawn leo
I looked in many of those same areas, but The red Shoes have been dismissed.

I'm tired, hungry and embarrassed. But I will not stop looking for Clock Man.

I'm not sure about other searches, but Google to omit something just type in "-Oz" without the quote marks. For an exact phrase type in "exact phrase" WITH the quote marks.

It's going to be so intense when we find him. By the way, if someone finds him on the DVD's be sure to post the video. I'm sure you guys would do that anyways right?

Absolutely!

It's been days since I sent the order but they still have not come in yet.

Nothing from The Pinwheel produce via email either.

This is pretty interesting and creepy at the same time. I'll try to find anything.

***The latest lead has been dismissed (The Red Shoes - Mel-o Toons circa 1960). Over the last 5 days The Flood has been able to track down the correct back story, but Clock Man is using "The Wizard of Oz" to hide in the searches - due to the similar descriptors. (i.e. Red Shoes, Wizard, Girl).

You can exclude certain phrases in the results by typing a hyphen and putting the phrase in quotes.

Example: "Girl with red shoes clock wizard -"wizard of oz""

I sent an email to Nickelodeon today. Doubt I'll get a reply, but we'll see.

I got a couple of regrettable tattoos but, you can't see 'em when I wear a black suit.
Click here for a good photo to laugh at

Santa, I'm confused, what did oOMr. CheesyOo contribute? You say he helped get a major lead and it's the same story that Clockman is in, but is it the story of the red shoes?
The way the paragraph is laid out is confusing.

WTF is a Gamer Girl?

I wish I had more to share, I'm exhausting every idea I have.
I've looked through old TV Listings for 1984, videos, etc,

The only thing I know new is that most of the collection of animated shorts, etc were acquired from Canada, however most were European. I've reached out to those with Viacom, Nickelodeon, Warner Cable, Qube, etc and all I get is "sorry, I only have live action footage"

Anyway, I ordered the DVD also, and per USPS it should arrive Friday morning... man I wish it said "Thursday" morning.

Thursday I plan on going to the Main Library here to see if I can find old TV Guides or TV Listings for 1984. It may at the least give more detail on which episodes aired that year.

You are right that it is a bit jumbled. - I apologize as I've only been sleeping arounf 2-3hours a night and I'm not a young guy anymore.

I'll clarify...

I came home from work this morning and discovered that while I was away, oOMr. CheeseyOo was able to locate the actual story behind Clock Man.

The story he posted instantly jogged all kinds of memories including Why Clock Man was after the child - and particularly the little girl sewing stars as she cried. I believe this is exactly what we are looking for.

In my excitement, I did a quick search and came up with something called "The Red Shoes" an animated short produced in 1960 under the Mel-o Toons (New World Productions.) - I did not have the computer skills to by-pass the wiki blackout and I could not find any other discriptions of that short. few others were able to by-pass the blackout and ruled it out.

After Midnight, I was able to view wiki and see that the short was penned after the Hans Christian Andersaon novel. Thes particular short has been ruled out. However - oOMr. CheesyOo's description is still what we are looking for.

I hope that made sense as I am deleriouly tired and nauseous at this point.

I'll fix the OP.

  • 01.18.2012 10:47 PM PDT

That'd be something if this made worldwide headlines or appeared on CNN or something.

I'll no doubt make an epic parody of this thread someday where I'll get people to search for nothing. It'll be hilarious!

You're either first or you're last.

You'll never amount to anything, go back under your bridge.

I hope this is an elaborate, very successful troll thread.

Either way, this reminds me of The Masque of the Red Death for some reason. I guess it's the damn clock...

Can't say I was alive at the time you saw this, OP. I'll search for it a bit tomorrow I suppose.

I cannot wait for the day when I gain control of the world.

Alright, time to give this all I got.

EDIT: Trying to make an account on Retrojunk.com to PM some users who watched the show. Maybe they can give us a few more details or even name the short.
