I know I am not insane. This cartoon made me afraid of kidnappers until I was 16 years old. I want to see Clock Man and face him as an adult. We are so close...I know he's out there - he doesn't want to face me now that I've grown. He preys on children.

He will be found.

Try posting that to 4chan as well. I tried for an hour yesterday, I don't think I can spend much more time looking it up, it's quite addicting.

Hopefully this will help in the search

I've been to above site a handful of times - but I have no idea how to find or post anything. Any tips? Also Reddit is helping too.

We could also Google people who worked on the show, then find all possible contacts, then interrogate them. There's gotta be a way. I trust you, OP. We will find Clockman.

I really hope this is found.

Also unrelated but was "ExquisiteDragon" blacklisted? All of his posts seem to be gone :'(

  • 01.13.2012 8:35 PM PDT

My plan:
I will ask all my uncles who grew up around that time period, if they can remember the sepcific episode or something.
Then, I am going to contact the known cast/crew using the IMDB site (except for Bill Cosby, too famous to care) I'll also even have my non-flood friends ask their parents/uncles. Thenwe'll have 4chan involved too, and we could possibly get some of the Minecraft Forums too help.

OP, I'm not joking but as a kid I saw something VERY similar to that, if not that. I always thought it was a dream but I guess not. =P

-blam!- just got real.

Also, I would ask my mom and dad but they grew up in a rather poor place without TV, or even flowing water for that. I doubt they would know.

This is pretty creepy

All kids shows should be like this one. No exceptions.

I would be scared -blam!-less.

Did the characters wear big hats? There's a stop motion French one where they wore big hats.

I am looking for a particular animated short that terrified me as a child. I've been looking on and off for it for nearly 4 years. Maybe it doesn't exsist. Maybe...nobody should ever find it. But if someone can - it's The Flood.

Here is all I can give you for clues...

THE MYSTERY OF "CLOCK MAN"
THE BEST I COULD DO TO DRAW CLOCKMAN

Clue #1: The short I am looking for appeared during an old Nickelodeon Show in the early/middle 1980's. The Show was called "Pinwheel"

Clue #2: This short animation was terrifying as a child. The scene is still burned into my mind (28 years later). It's of a young boy sleeping in his bed. Above his bed is a ticking clock. All the lights in the room are off and it is very dark. Suddenly the clock begins to slow down it's ticking and eventually it stops...on midnight. When the clock stops a Greenish/Bluish man climbs out of the clock. The boy wakes up just in time to see this man dressed in black grab him out of bed and kidnap him by carrying him through a window. The "Clock Man" takes the boy on some kind of terrifying adventure and brings him back to his bed before sunrise.

Clue #3: "Pinwheel" collected cartoons and stop-motion animation shorts from all over the world to add to their show. I'm almost certain it's a stop animation...but all these years later it could be a cartoon. Nevertheless, the short is probably not American.

Clue #4: I've already scoured Wiki, TV Junk, Retro Junk and Youtube and have come up empty handed. I've Googled and Yahoo searched for this short as well. Maybe it's the one thing that has evaded the internet all this time. And Maybe for good reason.

*****REWARD?*****

To avoid making this a contest (and therefore against forum rules) I will only say this...

If by chance...someone was able to locate this terrifying child's animation and post it in this thread - there is a very good possibility that you will be handsomely rewarded in a PM from me.
- Anyone with questions - feel free to ask, I'll answer anything I can. It's been a very long time since I've seen that short animation and it has haunted me for almost 30 years. I can't begin to tell you how happy I'd be to see it one more time before I pass away.

Did this cartoon have dialouge?

Based on the premise of the cartoon, Alfie seems like the biggest match to the kid you've drawn and his inability to sleep.

Well, this was the best I could find. Look for the episode titled "The Stopped Clock".

This seems very accurate. It's just that I can't seem to find any pictures or videos of that episode to see if it actually is correct.

This might slightly help.
Something that has to do with this girl named Emily. It apparently aired on Pinwheel.

Judging by the comments, this show seems to have a strange pattern of people watching it and many years later not remembering if it was real or a dream of some sort.

Again, this makes epic creepypasta material.

YES! THANK YOU! I AM NOT CRAZY!
I believe your post and it has honestly made me feel better. I knew I couldn't be the only person on earth that remembered Clock Man... Although Chalupa King's post would be the creepiest thing ever if true.

Posted by: Zion

I'm pretty sure it didn't...but strangely - I remember the boy repeatingly asking Clock Man to take him home and Clock Man never listend to him (until the sun came up.) I can't remember if it was me just thinking that, or the boy in the short was actually saying that. In any event - the only sound in the whole bedroom scene I drew was only of the ticking clock...until it stopped on midnight and Clock Man came out.

Alfie was the first suspect and for awhile it looked like it might be him, but the animation style doesn't fit and althoughwe found stuff that was close - it wasn't Alfie.
- The "Hat" show you are talking about was called "HATTYTOWN." I had forgotten about this show until I found it in the search. It was indeed weird, but is is most certainly not the orgin of Clock Man.

Posted by: Weeded Dragon I saw your post on Reddit and I appreciate it. I added the photo to that thread and thanked you in it as well. I tried to give you a +1, but I think my account there is too new to do so. In any event - thanks again.

Posted by: Chalupa King I kid you not - I went weight lifting today. I go to a gym deep in the Adirondack mountains in New York. The place was dark and deserted (I have my own key) and snow was falling outside. A thought like yours crossed my mind actually and I kept looking over my shoulder. Clock Man has become an obsession over the last 24 hours for me. I was thinking Maybe Clock Man was the Grim reaper trying to get me in my youth and now that I was thinking of him again...he was coming to claim his prize. Just turned up the volume in my headphones and finished lifting.

When I saw the show is was definitely part of children's programming in the early/mid 1980's and it appeared in the morning. It was definitely creepy enough to be recycled as an "adult" clip to freak people out in the early mornings though.

I asked my mom (even though I knew she wouldn't know anything) but she said that where she lived, she only had one channel and couldn't remember any shows that came on. Is it possible she saw it? Sure? Likely? No. If this is as lucid as you are saying, maybe she will remember in the morning.

You know, curiously, I will say this: I did have dreams when I was little where I was being carried forcebly by someone, but I think it was my own parents. I distinctly remember what happens.

Everything is set to an amber-orange glow. Someone is holding me while walking along a building. We pass a open door in which I see a bakery inside. No idea why, but for some reason I struggled to get there.

After that, the person brought me to the last door at the end. There the door opened and these two skeletons started tickling me.

It was really eerie though. At some point I understood the pattern to this dream (it was a recurring dream) and I was able to not become afraid. Then I went inside the skeleon's room. It was just empty.

That's all I ever ventured in that dream.
