...

It's already been confirmed as the ruins of the space elevator.

There is no bridge in the trailer. I am not talking about the ark.

Yea I thought it was the bridge too. They said the round thing in the background was a fallen tether(?) Either way, there is no signifigance of a broken bridge so, relax.

Read the FAQ. It's a fallen Space Elevator, not a bridge.

Yeah, it is a space elevator. I thought it was a bridge at first, but if you look throughout the beginning of the trailer, you can see about four or five giant metal rings in the background, scattered over all the savannah grass.

It is the elevator, and that's been confirmed by Bungie.

Subject: Elevator

Navy Football #45

For all of you who are wondering what the space elevator is and want to know:

The wreckage in the trailer is NOT the bridge, it is the space elevator. The space elevator is the giant, thin structure that shoots up through the sky to space in the level Metropolis. The space elevator is apparently used as an elevator to travel from Earth directly toward a ship, space base, etc. The elevator consists of rings for support, hence the ring-shaped wreckage in the trailer is just that. I'm pretty sure you are able to view it while on the bridge in the level Metropolis, just look toward the city and look for a structure shooting upward, it's not hard to miss.

Hope this helps.
