So we've been complaining about getting rid of bloom for a while, then when we get it, people still complain.... so after all this bi.tching was bloom worth it?

The sad thing is that people think bloom adds skill to the game.

I played Halo 2 and 3, but Reach was my first online title. Hence, I became used to the Reach formula, which includes bloom. Because of this, I have an advantage over people who started on Halo 3 and are used to spamming. So personally, I like bloom because I "grew up on it" for lack of a better term. I can out DMR most people because of it.

This is another argument I can't seem to fathom. How do you spam a weapon that has a fixed rate of fire?

I like bloom. If there was no bloom then it would'nt require much skill to pull off a headshot.

and I wonder why i don't visit the Reach forum often...

When I play with friends, I switch it up every so often. One game will have it, one won't.

Keeps it fresh.

You are a noob.

With bloom I would probably out DMR you 8 out of 10 times.

Without bloom it would be 10 out of 10.

I'm done with this thread.

Bloom works really well in SWAT. When enemies die from a single headshot you should be punished for missing any shots. The reason bloom doesn't work in Slayer is because of the longer kill times. Slayer should employ a system where if you fire faster than a set rate, your shots become less powerful.

Bloom only works in LD and SWAT. Everything else should have absolutely no bloom.

Why do you think I'm a noob? You've never seen me play.

Regardless of my skill level and whether or not you could out-DMR me 1v1, bloom does put players who pace at a great advantage to those who spam. It does add more skill to how you time your shots, but the drawback is that it slows down gameplay.

I would have liked to see a RoF cap on the DMR, Pistol, and NR in addition to Zero Bloom. Either way, I prefer ZB to Bloom any day. Bloom was the #1 frustrating thing to me in the game for some time.

Only sometimes does it "add more skill" but overall it takes away skill by adding unnecessary randomness.

I'm beating a dead horse here.

Also, Seven is one of the better players, its safe for him to assume he is better than some random person on the forums. That includes you.

Thanks for an educated answer. However I disagree; randomness only comes to play when you spam, otherwise your shots should hit exactly where you want them to. Bloom emphasises timing as much as accuracy, requiring more skill for correct timing and accuracy.

But yeah, the community has already agreed Halo Reach is a disgrace to gaming and it should be torched and burned.

Also, even if he is better than me, that doesn't make me a noob, especially if he is 'one of the better players', and his attitude is uncalled for. My opinion should not be disregarded because of my skill anyhow (and I assure you I'm not a noob).

You're saying the randomness is only when you spam and that your shots should hit exactly where you shoot them? Sure that's great. Now lets look at the one other variable, the enemy player! Don't forget about him! What if he decides to spam? Randomness comes into play!

I can't make my enemies pace their shots.

Unless you're saying somehow the randomness helps a spammer by scattering bullets all over the place, then the bloom system does its job of punishing spammers.
Noob or not, I have out-DMRed many a spammer by pacing my shots.

Thank you this time for actually responding with a counter-argument instead of attacking myself.
