I do that quite often, bungie.net seemed so much friendlier than it is now.

We was teenagers back in the day. Now we are in our mid 20s dealing with teenagers. It sucks to get old. But hey at least we can say we played bungies original games and we know what a floppy disk is.
I don't know, seems semi-friendly to me. I can't say I played Bungie's first games, but I can say that I am in my 20's.

Hahah, I meant is seemed friendlier back in 04. I'm not in my 20's yet..

I am a Floodian

Yeah, I don't like looking at my past. I always come out thinking I acted like a douche.

Wait... do I act like a douche?

Wait... All of this is probably done better not when typed but when spoken.

We miss you Logan.
Ask any question. I'll help with anything on site or off.

I do that all the time. The community has gotten way bigger I think.

Didact's Reprisal -
Now is the time of our unworlding
One final effort is all that remains
And I am not afraid
We shall fulfill our promise
We fight for the grace of the Mantle
And this time none of you will be left behind

I was planning on digging through the forums at some point, though I didn't know when I wanted to start this. I dug through my game history to find when I first met up with a friend, and that took quite a few hours (still not convinced).

Hmm. Maybe Saturday. That's a great way to spend a Saturday night, yes?

It's a metaphor for the 07s' lack of identity. too old to be newfag, yet too new to be oldfag, we wander b.net in search of a home, forever trying to be something we are not.

-blam!- Was that actually blammed out? Or did I just type it? You'll never know.

I once got stuck on thread 12 on page 1955 when I went back. There was a whole thing with my account almost being deleted from existence and someone posting a sports Almanac and stuff. It was wild.

I think I'm going to wait for my 7th Bungie Birthday before I try this. It's a pretty cool concept but I don't think I'm completely changed yet. I want to wait a bit.

Cheers!

I understand what you mean, Duardo. I really don't know how to reply to such a thread, although you might have a reason, it isn't clear to me; so I think I'll just talk about the older days and try to bring up what I think is interesting.

Remember when we first met MetalxTongue? I barely can. I just remember how silly it was. Oh, how I post when I'm tired.

I remember when you posted a lot back there, I was still new to the site. I think you were the first member that I could recognize. I thought that your avatar was unique as well.

Been there. Done that. I've done it once in the Community Forum, but just about every other time has been in the Halo 3 forum. I have so much history there that it's really something special to be able to go back and see everything. The community has changed big time since then.

Do you really expect yourself to be omniscient right after you join this site? Go easy on yourself. Asking is the quickest way to find an answer. Which is why I even encourage users to ask questions in my signature.

Stosh was the one arguing with a member and the member was saying that Halo 3's population was more than Halo:Reach's population. Is that the one you were talking about?
Posted by: Quantam
I am still trying to find a very, very important quote in the Reach forum... but I will never find it.

It is to do with some employee talking about Reach vs 3's population.

It was probably that...

Why are you reading my signature? Who actually opens these things and reads them!

And as always, SEND ME A PM. Please. Or really bad things will happen to you.

I was here for a yearish before I created this account so my first posts here aren't that bad. In fact they're quite the quality posts.

This was created shortly after switching accounts. Sometimes I wonder what would have happened if the thread I made on my previous account hadn't been locked, then I never would have created an alt and switched. Instead of this name that I'm not too fond of I'd be known as ReactorCool, which I'm not too proud of.

Half of my old posts when I first started up were about Halo 3, Recon and ... more Halo 3. I was pretty childish back then (because I was a child). Six years ago I was 13. Wowza.

Ehh... it's interesting but nothing I'd get excited about.

"You build on failure. You use it as a stepping stone. Close the door on the past. You don't try to forget the mistakes, but you don't dwell on it. You don't let it have any of your energy, or any of your time, or any of your space." -Johnny Cash

I do that sometimes as well. It's fun to go through threads in the past and remember them.

  • 01.13.2012 10:09 AM PDT

Man, back in the day it was all bell-bottoms and afros. It's changed so much.

I find the historiographical nature of Bungie.net to be intriguing. I just recently watched the SyFy series "Caprica". I enjoyed the concept of being able to create an avatar based on a search of the carnate. It might be nice to have a histogram for each users.

I have just spent 2 hours going through old posts in here. Why? No reason really,* I was looking for something and I started clicking on old threads. It's really amazing how much change has happened on here. It's really fun to click a thread and notice that you posted in it, especially when you can remember it. You start looking to see if you conversations with anyone, and you notice how much you've changed. It's really really cool.

What's odd, though, is now that I spent so much time back there, it's hard to adjust to current threads. I wonder if it has something to do with it being 3AM also....eh, maybe.

Seriously though, you guys should take a look back and see the changes and progress the website, Bungie Community, and you have made.

Cheers!

This man, this man right here put it so eloquently that I actually cancelled my own 2000+ word long post.
/slow clap for respect

The person who said participating is important, not winning, obviously never won anything.

Actually, how do I see so far in the past? Recent post history is limited to twelve pages, so how do I access the further past?
