Subject: Bungie should stop mixing ranks.

Posted by: NavG123

Honestly, OP, if you want the truth, there is ABSOLUTELY ZERO type of matchmaking system in this game. That's a fact.

I think every mp game needs a ranking system. I don't care if you can see it or not or know what rank you are, but games with everyone around the same skill would but a little more fun.

Posted by: BraveLionheadThey do not play the game on my level

I'd love to know what level you apparently play on because it definitely isn't a high one.

And no, by the time you hit eclipse you won't be anywhere near as good as I am let alone many of the people who are far better than me and lower ranked.

Rank in Reach =/= skill. Never has, never will.

Rank really means alot?

lolinheritors

Rank means nothing.

Boltshot = mini shotgun

Bungie made the ranking system try to balance out in games, I think.
If 1 team has a symbol rank, that player is matched with lower ranks, and the same on the other team.
But that barely ever works out.

Recruits can beat Inheritors.

Your presence here is quite unneeded. Begone you!!!

You got a LONG way to go if you are looking for good teammates by rank alone.

Me. I once has a game in premium battle where I had (at General) 2 corporals, 3 warrant officers

The other team was 2 inheritors, 1 hero, 1 mythic and 2 nobles.

To put the icing on the cake, they were a 6 man party >.<

Somebody want to tell him wank rank doesn't equal????

I got this one

Rank=Skill.

  • 01.21.2012 5:02 PM PDT

I game therefor i am.

Exactly what i'm saying chesney.

You get teamed up with low rank who are actually low and the next game you get teamed up with reclaimers who got their rank through cheating and don't have a clue on how the game works. And then you get owned by a captain(a lot of those around thses days, must have been a popular christmas present) and his guests.

I'm not saying every reclaimer is a cheater(well most are) nor am i saying all recruits are newbs as they could be second accounts. Its just that most of the time the ranks speak truth and that means teaming up high ranks with low ranks is silly and very annoying.

It is true however that it is better to work with an actual team you build up, communicate too and actually are of your age and intelligence. Its hard to find normal people in matchmaking though(i mute like 99% of all people with a mic because they are either cursing, screaming or have music on). My actual friends are all busy with CoD too so no help from those. -blam!-s.

I need logical, useable matchmaking. Not some random -blam!-.

Oh, and Satansreverence: I'll take you on one on one any time anywhere. and your friend Im pigeon too.

RIP Bungie Service Records. You shall be missed.

I know how you feel, bro

  • 01.25.2012 2:29 PM PDT

This wouldn't work because then you couldn't play matchmaking with your friends simply if they were a higher or lower rank.

  • 01.25.2012 2:29 PM PDT

rank dont matter i know recruits that have enough skill to be mlg pros

I do.

But, I also agree with others that rank doesn't matter.

However, 343 industries should fix this problem when Halo 4 comes out.

I mean, I enjoyed getting my sixth Perfection, but I shouldn't get matched up with other players, whose combined kills, don't even come close to equaling my spread.

  • 01.26.2012 2:06 AM PDT

<(-_-)> Teh mokey is not amused

The problem is that the server tries to join you based on skill. But it can't tell the difference between a crap player who's just killed a load of even crappier players and a good player, they both appear good in the post game stats.
