Halo 2 difficulty, I hate you

Hello, everybody!
Lately, I've been wondering: does playing certain gametypes more than others affect your performance in, say, Team Slayer?
I at least think I've noticed that after playing Swat a lot I get slightly better results, while FF Arcade seems to be having the opposite effect.
Has anyone else noticed anything similar or has this been sheer luck?
(Oh, and I would be VERY grateful for tips on playing swat and aiming in general)

We’re flawed because we want so much more. We’re ruined because we get these things and wish for what we had.

/wrong forum take it to teh Reach forum/Flood if you dare.

But to answer your question, yes playing a certain game type for awhile will effect your performance because you'v been a costumed to said game type. This could be good or bad.
