Well, some might enjoy that kind of play, but I think most just don't notice the difference.
I remember before I joined the forums, I couldn't use the DMR well at all - I didn't get it. That didn't really bother me though, I just used different, easier to use weapons.
Some people just don't know the difference, and changing something drastically might push people away from the game.
So there is in some aspect a need to have basically 2 playlist that both a skilled and i want to have fun type of player can enjoy.
Its basically a very difficult and gray area to please many different players.Well they should have just made the game in a way that was more catered to the competitive crowd - which default Reach is not.
If the game caters to competitive players, casuals won't notice. If the game is catered to casuals, the competitive players will notice and you'll get something like Reach.
343 has done damage control, but hopefully will do the right things with Halo 4.
True that many new players won't notice. Reach was my first Halo game and i would not have known what the difference was as you quoted.
