I see alot of ideas about having more realism in Halo but Halo is not about realism, it;s about science-fiction. Following the story of a super-soldier/human to save humanity(normal humans) from being wiped out by a group of alien races that come together to make the great journey. You play the role as master chief( A cybernetically inhanced super soldier) not a marine, not a normal human but a super human to save the human race from extinction. The writer of Halo wanted you to feel like when you read the books you felt like you where like that super soldier with increadible feats like throwing nades across the map, running 2x,3x the speed of a normal human, firing guns across the map,exe things that normal humans cant do. Bungie brought that to life on the xbox with Halo CE and it was so much fun. Yet people want things to be more realistic in Halo and halo is all about Science-fiction. If I wanted to play as a normal human than I would play another game like COD2 or Battlefield or any other story that revolves around realism and being a normal person. The smg for example fires like a smg in real life, real short or as some people like to say, spray and pray. Grenades throw as far as a normal human would throw them in real life an chief would run as slow as a normal human. Halo 2's game play seems more centered around a nomal human than that super human soldier that everybody remembers in Halo CE. Halo CE game play is what made Halo stand out and apart from every other game. Yet Halo 2 gameplay makes it feel like im playing just another ordinary game. In my honest opinion Halo 3 needs to return to that Sci-Fi that made Halo CE what it is-fun. Sci-Fi and realism just dont mix. Halo 2 was based around realism and it made the game fustrating and not fun. I would like to see Bungie get rid of the realism and make halo fun again for everybody including the complainers.

"You must face the truth squarely and without flinching from duty. Our enemies are mortal no longer. Mercy for such as they is a chimera, self-deception is its only ally. Dedicate this weapon, given unto your hand at the behest of the Emperor, to their destruction. Regard its function as your only duty: you live only to bring cleansing fire."

i agree but there should be a decent level of realism, not big things like the chief but little things like the guns and physics

Isn't this The Halo 3 forum?

He watches every Hodgetwin video they put up...on ALL their channels. He calls them the Hodge Triplets, and considers himself the 3rd triplet. He's started talking and acting like them now. Every other line out of his mouth "Thaaas some BULLLLLL**** maaayne" or "Gotta make dem gainzzzz". He calls his biceps "gains". When he eats post-workout, he talks to his biceps, "Don't worry gains, I'm feeding you. Daddys gonna feed you, gainz *kisses biceps*".

I disagree there... I think the game should be slightly more realistic. I mean, realistic as in charging your enemy is NOT a good strategy (as it often was in both Halo and Halo 2). I just think that kills should be made a little bit quicker, people should move a tad bit slower, weapons damage should be slightly heavier on the armor or alien's bodys, and everything should be made slightly grittier. But that's just me.

Don't get me wrong, I loved both Halo and Halo 2 TREMENDOUSLY. However, I think a slightly more realistic (not Rainbow Six realistic, mind you) Halo 3 would be a killer...

Do you think you can handle my gigantic COC?
~!TheHalo3D!~
-If your car could travel at the speed of light, would your headlights work?
-What happens if you get scared half to death twice?
-I intend to live forever; so far, so good.

OK, Just so you know, NO ONE here is asking for it to be real in terms of enslaving an entire covenant race. but in the sense of physics like Ikwa here said. Like maybe sand blowing up from the African plains dramatically when you shot it. or maybe making the lighting a lot more realistic. Things like that. So I just wanted to clear things up.

More or less I was talking about the physics and the things that MC could do in Halo CE that you can't do in Halo 2. In H2 I felt that Bungie stripped MC of all his superhuman abilities and what made him a super soldier and left him as a normal human.. that wasn't fun and took away from what made MC a supersoldier.
